About this listen

One ranch. Three sons. Only one will inherit...and on one condition.

Tired of waiting for his sons to settle down, Arizona-territory rancher Angus McKettrick announces a competition: the first son to marry and produce a grandchild will inherit Triple M ranch. Now, three distinctly different, equally determined cowboys are searching high and low for brides.

Kade McKettrick's got five mail-order brides-to-be camped out at the local hotel, all more than eager to provide him with the heir that will win him the Triple M ranch. But Kade, the newly appointed marshal, has his hands full with a troublesome outlaw gang. Why, then, is he so easily distracted by pretty "Sister Mandy" - who most assuredly is not the nun she claims to be?

On the run from her outlaw stepfather, Mandy Sperrin hides beneath her solemn disguise and vows to keep her wild, passionate nature from the respectable citizens of Indian Rock. Yet when the handsome marshal makes it clear that he wants her, Mandy gives in to her heated desires....

Excellent!

This story was very well written. Here and there I went crazy over the female main character Emmaline as well as the male lead Rafe. But in the end it was exciting and a good read. It wasn't so full of adventure but it was still pretty interesting.

My Three Sons in the Old West

This is a fun romp in the old west. A 78 year old widower with grown rascally sons are settling a large ranch in pretty much in the middle of no where at this time in history Arizona. The father on his birthday finally lays down the law and says he will give the majority of the ranch to the first son to marry and produce an heir boy or girl makes no difference, The brothers are very competitive and none of the brothers wants to be working for the other brother. The problem of course is the lack of desirable women in High Country. Rafe is the first to sends for a mail order bride. Emmaline who when she wasn't in private boarding schools was raised in a brothel is the bride that answers Rafe's request. The other two brothers are still in the game in this book as an heir hasn't been produced yet and there are problems large and small marrying strangers in the old west. The review posted by Amazon from the publisher is about the second book in the series not this book that sets up 13 book series. I am not sure if Linda Lael Miller has finish writing them yet.

A Pleasant Surprise

First time read with this author. I enjoyed this story out of my usual time and setting choices. A mail order bride and difficult beginning. The eldest of three brothers who warm their way into the heart of the reader. I was happy to find there are more books in this series andI plan to listen to each and every one. I liked Linda Lael MIller's style of writing and the narrator brought substance to the imagery.

Great story. The frontier was a welcome and unwelcoming place for people. Love growing there and had trouble blossoming. Talking helped . Nice place for a family
