However, as Lucia dives into the world of electioneering, her rival Miss Mapp – now Mrs Mapp-Flint– remains dedicated to thwarting her ambitions. . .
Trouble for Lucia: Now Mayor of Tilling – and married to Georgie Pillson – Lucia must select her Mayoress. In the name of holding one's friends close and one's enemies even closer, she opts for her rival Elizabeth Mapp-Flint, hoping to keep her muzzled by gratitude. Meanwhile, Lucia is kept busy with local politics, swooping through the village on her bicycle, and attending a peculiar séance. . .
