About this listen

With social services getting restless about the younger members of the Clan, Angel decides to send Maisie and Malissa to boarding school. The girls hack the CIA's London office in an idle moment and start a chain of events running that ends in a fundamentalist Islamic attack ont the school. “Girls, these men are from BT’s Cyber Investigations Unit. They want to talk to you. Please be honest with them. It seems you are in serious trouble,” Chrissie said. Her voice trembled. “BT Cyber-what?” Maisie said, looking up from her sketch pad. “Never heard of it,” Malissa said, glancing across at Maisie. Maisie put her sketch pad down. “Chrissie. You need to go get yourself a cup of tea or something. Leave these two, what was it again? cyber-security investigators? to Lissa and me.” “Girls, they think you’ve been guilty of hacking. Don’t make matters worse, please,” Chrissie said, somewhat alarmed both by Maisie’s use of her first name and by the way both girls were suddenly looking as if they were contemplating violence. Maisie was twirling her sketching pencil from finger to finger. Malissa stood and smiled bleakly at Chrissie. “Maisie’s right, Chrissie. You don’t want to be here, hearing the conversation we’re going to have. It’s classified stuff, OK? Now be a dear and go have that cuppa while we chat to our chums here.” “It’s all right, Mrs. Mackie, we just want a word with the girls at this stage. We’ll come and tell you all about it when we’re done,” John Dodd said, soothingly. “Well, I’ll just be in the office if I’m needed. Do be sensible, girls,” Chrissie said, then ducked her head a few times, turned and hurried off. “She’s so sweet,” Maisie said looking after her. Then she turned back to the two men. “So, what’s the real story? And please drop that BT cyber-something crap or we’re going to get mad.” “Right you are, sweetheart,” John Dodd said. “The real story is that you two darlings did something bloody impossible and we need to know how you did it.” “How we hacked Station Blue, you mean? You guys aren’t USA, so what’s the story? You’re hired help?” Maisie said. “We don’t talk to the help,” Malissa added. “Get your boss to call us now and we’ll talk to him.” The man who hadn’t spoken yet took a big step towards Malissa, getting right inside her personal space. “You’ll talk to us right now little miss,” he hissed, his nose six inches from hers. Malissa promptly kicked him in the balls and then in the head, laying him out cold. George Buckley, who was playing Dodd, found the sharp tip of Maisie’s pencil pressing against his carotid artery. “Be very quiet and still,” she said. “I’m cool, Jesus. Be careful with that, girl...” Adventure Science Fiction Espionage Hacking Computer Security
