About this listen

There are reports that hijacked Star Watch personnel are released onto a jungle planet in the Beyond. There, New Men hunt them down like animals with high-powered rifles and killer dogs.

Captain Maddox would check that out, but he’s grounded on Earth and Galyan refuses to let anyone else use Starship Victory.

Valerie goes in a Patrol scout with Keith at helm and the newly young Riker as security.

They stumble onto an ancient conspiracy that started long before humanity was rooting around for tubers on Earth. Somehow, it’s related to what the New Men are doing on the jungle planet.

Valerie will do everything she can to save her hijacked crew from this evil, although she’s alone in the Beyond in an escape pod that is running out of air. If she fails, God help us all.

THE LOST WORLD is book 22 in the Lost Starship series, a star-spanning saga of deadly space war and planetary struggles as told by millions-bestselling author Vaughn Heppner.

just a good sequence of the storyline

this was a great book with lots of twists and turns and stories within stories.

entertaining

overall entertaining and creative. I enjoyed expanding the other characters. Would have rated five stars, but the internal friction within Star Watch a buzz kill. Given the external threats that can end human civilization the constant demeaning of Victory's crew by high command is getting old. Star Watch should be a crack force top down. On to the next episode...

It's getting boring

this book feels like serval old stories modified and connected together, good for killing time, but not fascinating.

No capt Maddox. No victory

I’m sorry but you can’t call this a story in the “lost starship” series without the main characters! It was an ok listen but nothing new or exciting happened. Very easy to guess what was coming next. Perhaps it’s time to retire this series and start work on another one. I come here to listen to Maddox not to listen to characters say constantly “what would Maddox do” or “if Maddox were here”. You keep bringing it up and reminding me why I hate this book!

Heppner quit mailing it in 2 of the last 3 in this series have been awful.

No more books where Starship Victory, Maddox, Ludendorff and the rest of the crew are off on separate missions and not in the book, or very little. How many books are gonna be about these stupid crystals? I had loved and bought every book in this series so far. You're turning it into your "Traveler Series" which is meh at best. I don't think I'm down for another one of these.
