Acerca de esta escucha

A riveting WWII historical fiction novel of espionage, betrayal, and the personal cost of sending women to war—based on a true story.

London, 1942.

At Baker Street Headquarters, Anna Adams lives a life of secrets. As a spymistress for the Special Operations Executive (SOE), her job is to recruit and train female agents for missions deep inside Nazi-occupied France. She’s cold, efficient, and unflinching—or so everyone believes.

But when Polish fighter pilot Major Henryk “Hubal” Pilecki reappears from her past, everything changes. Torn between forbidden love and national duty, Anna is pressured into an arranged marriage with a British aristocrat to bury her origins forever.

As missions begin to fail and her agents disappear one by one, Anna must confront not only betrayal within the SOE but the cost of the choices she’s made. After the war, she embarks on a dangerous journey to postwar Germany to uncover what became of the women she sent into danger—and the truth about the protector who’s always watched from the shadows.

The London Spymaker is a deeply emotional World War II novel of love, sacrifice, and female courage in the face of unbearable choices. Perfect for readers of historical espionage, character-driven drama, and real-life resistance stories that leave a lasting mark.

The performance of this story is so disconcerting. It is really weird to listen to someone joyfully describe horrific events. I realize this was a virtual AI performance, but someone should’ve listened to it before they posted it. Example: When it was gleefully exclaimed that they actually threw up from the horrid smell, I think the tone is way off. Saying you threw up it’s definitely something that can be an exclamatory statement however it’s usually not exclaimed in a positive way. This will be a book that I will read on my own because the story is good, but the virtual performance on the other hand, not so much. I don’t know who’s error this was, but the author was done a great disservice.

The story sounds interesting, but…
