Insightful

Overall I thought the book was very insightful. I am a black woman who has been in leadership in Corporate America for some time now , and I still found some "Aha" moments in this book. Will definitely recommend.

Mamaisms

I took a long time to actually listen to this book. But when I finally did, it was the right time. I'm not in the corporate world, im an entrepreneur and this book still hit home for me. I'm sending this book to my 3 Daughters and nieces who are in the corporate arena. My favorite part was the Mamaisms cause it brought back so many wonderful memories of my Mama, and let me know I'm stronger than I've given my self credit for. Thank you for this book, I will be reviewing again and again.

Must read

Tons of helpful tips and strategies. I really liked the flow from getting a job to having a seat at the table. The cultural codes and “mamaisms” broke things up and made it plain. Thanks.

Making sense of all the things in the workplace

I love it the breaks down of how to operate in the work place as black women, and it's very relatable.

A must read for all business women

I purchased this book with the goal of learning about becoming a leader in my workplace. Although the book is tailored toward the Black female, I found the book to be informative. The book takes a real-life approach to the struggles that most women face when striving to become a leader in her organization. The "Mammaisms" make the book even more enjoyable by throwing in sayings that I heard in my home growing up. I highly recommend this book for all women in business.

I love this book, great ah ha moments

There were many ah ha moments. The audible voice made it easy to want to continue listening. The mommaisims tied the professional message to what you have been told in life. Being that you walk through different experiences and chapters in life, I refer back, listen again, take notes and apply it to what is happening in my life at the moment. Great book!
