Publisher's summary

Love may be blind, but obsession’s a real killer.

Nora Holliday is not that kind of woman. Not the kind who has an illicit affair with a married man. But Josh Landon is everything Nora’s alcoholic husband isn’t. And now she and Josh are so infatuated, they can’t stay away from one another.

Abby Landon, Josh’s daughter, is home from college nursing a broken heart. She’s seeking solace, not more scandal, so when she catches her dad kissing Nora, she vows to take the homewrecker down.

And as for Abby’s mother and Josh’s wife, Gwen? To anyone on the outside looking in, the mother of two appears to be living the ideal suburban life.

Until she winds up dead.

The serene seaside town of Shoreham has always been the perfect place to raise a family - not somewhere housewives are brutally murdered. So who killed Gwen Landon, and how many twisted secrets will be exposed as the vindictive plot comes undone?

Last affair

Beginning was a bit slow for me, but I am glad I stuck with it. Couldn’t get enough

Abby and the all of the kids are the WORST

Personally I really enjoyed the book, I love Margot Hunt. I don't think she's had a single miss with any of her three books that I've read/listened too, technically four books because she has a short story here on audible that's actually pretty good too. I gave it a 4 because of how much I absolutely hate the daughter Abby. I know it's just a fictional book but her character repulses me, as a 27-year-old woman who got her heartbroken in college I definitely feel for this girl but the one thing that really ground my gears about the/her story line is that not once was the financial aspect of the Abby dropping out of college over a boy addressed. I cannot imagine putting myself in that kind of debt over a boy. It literally infuriated me through the whole book and I could not let it go. Actually I couldn't really stand any of the kids characters in the book. They made me not want to have children of my own. However, that is a nod to Margot Hunts ability to develop strong characters. Anyways besides that the story was great other wise.

What happens when you have an affair?

I found this story very interesting, because it’s a child or young adult, who sees her parents or her mother having an affair. I can relate because I witnessed my. Father having an affair with somebody that he labeled. As our cousin, so this story really resonated with me.

Last Affair was good

I liked the story. Not in love with the ending. I wish the characters showed some signs of wanting to learn from their mistakes and that perhaps the families might heal. However, if there’s to be a sequel, the perfect set up is in place…

Awful Narration

The story was pretty good, but listening to the interpretation of the men characters were horrible. Suffer through that and I think you’ll enjoy the book. Suggestion: invest in the voices of men being narrated by men.

Great except...

This was the first audible book I listened to where the narrator was insufferably terrible. I had to grit my teeth when the narrator voiced Carter. Abby was not much better—she sounded like she was being choked the whole time. HOWEVER, this was still an amazing book that I really enjoyed. The plot was good and it was never slow.

Great to listen to

I enjoyed this book. I enjoy Margot Hunt's books in general. I don't watch crime or detective shows; and this is a murder mystery. But it is much more about the interpersonal dynamics of the families involved. There are strong female characters. The characters are realistic and well drawn.
