Publisher's summary

These three stories come with a breath of cold and a sort of longing, the sort of thing that consumes someone if they let it. "Wendy Won't Go" is the story of a family whose loss threatens to consume them all, "Love like Blood" is a story about the limits one will reach before love is gone, and "Cold Comfort" is about the bitterness that devours us within before it goes on to consume everything around us.

Vivid poetic gore draped over deep loss

Beautiful stories with gorgeous prose describing both deeply sad emotions and wet, welcoming gore. Amanda Lyons is a new favorite.

I found the audiobook layout confusing, and wasn’t sure when one story began and another started. Part of that was chapter titling and part was a narration that stayed at a constant dynamic throughout. I like the narrator very much - his steady, warm voice would be an asset to many horror tales. I think I might have liked a little more dynamic, poetic read for this work, though. I would have liked a little more theater or poetry-reading energy. Still, I would ask out work by him again, and the overall production was outstanding.

A Triple crown read!

In the first story Wendy won’t go in mother has passed away because back to her sweet daughter sad but is she the loving mother she used to be… Not really! In the second book a new mother baby is taken away by a desert demon and she promises she will do anything to get her baby back… But will she want her baby back when it’s time? In the third story this is the one that will be a favorite of most people especially those who like blood and gore I myself love it! This whole book grabs your attention and doesn’t wanna go until it’s over. I felt as if the book was only 20 minutes long I was that into it. I don’t know how Amanda Lyons sleeps at night with all these stories running through her head. I guess that is why she is one of my favorite authors. Also I thought the narrator did a great job I don’t think I’ve ever heard him on another book, but will look forward to hearing him again.
