About this listen

In the forest of good and evil,

Strength is weakness and

Weakness is strengh.

It all depends on who the slipper fits.

Princess Ashleigh Charmaine-Anskelisa is the Glass Princess, ready to shatter with a whisper of wind. Born with a weak heart, the vulnerable beauty has no magical ability…or does she?

Something strange is happening to Ashleigh. Blackouts. Evil whispers. Immunity to fire. Turns out, she’s fated to play the part of Cinderella — but this time, the tale is twisted. The royal she’s supposed to enchant is the ruthless Saxon, a reincarnation of the realm’s most savage ruler…and he thinks Ashleigh is a reincarnation of his greatest enemy. He’s even fighting in a tournament to wed her stepsister.

As the stroke of midnight looms, will Ashleigh become the queen she’s prophesied to be, or lose everything she's come to love?

Loved it!

I loved every minute of this story! It definitely doesn't resemble Cinderella in any familiar way but it is a fun story from Enchantia that makes me crave the next installment!

loved it!

This is the first time I've heard James Fouhey, and I LOVE his voice. I'm about to go listen to anything else I can find by him.

Caitlin Kelly is strong as always 💪 ❤.

I liked The Glass Queen more than The Evil Queen. Saxon and Ashleigh were both compelling and interesting.

can't wait for the next one!!!

A must read!!

All I can say is...I want more, Now!! I loved every minute of this fairytale and hate that it's over, for now. Action packed from the first chapter to the last. Never a dull moment. You'll be on the edge of your seat the entire time! I absolutely love Saxon, sorry Roth but you've been dethroned in this ladies heart 😉

good read

I enjoyed book one more, but this was a good read and twist on yet another childhood fairytale. A lot spicer and action packed, by the happily ever after is still intact!

Same ingredients as book 1, but much better cake

Now here’s the delicious spin on fairytales that I was craving! An enemies to lovers story with twists of Cinderella, Greek mythology (I liked the Twelve Labors of Hercules vibe), and plenty of girl power.
Because hey, I WANT my guys to be alpha warriors, but I NEED my gals to be fierce. Here, Saxon is a sexy, winged, battle-tested warrior and Ashleigh is soft and sweet… and also fiery and unapologetically bright. And by bright I mean both her smarts and her sunny attitude. Plus, here there be dragons!

Good thing I bought these together at a sale, If I had purchased book 1 alone, I’m not sure I’d have cared enough to purchase this book 2. Lo and behold, even though the world and twisted-fairy tale theme are the same, I liked this book way more than book 1.

Improvements:
-It’s still a bit too long, but at 4 hours shorter than book 1, it felt like the pace flowed better.
-There’s no clunky time spent in our world; 100% of this story is in Enchantra, allowing for full escapism
- The modern day, millennial lingo is cut back to more palatable levels (I barely caught one “sorry, not sorry” and a couple “because… reasons”)
-Compared to book 1’s couple (Everly and Roth), Ashleigh and Saxon are more likable characters, her from the get-go and him not too much later.
-The Oracle is growing on me. I was frustrated by the cryptic, “just trust me and do bad things because I said so” in book 1, but here that same style was funnier.

This story was consistently YA, with no cussing, and nooky that’s mostly indirect and innuendo. Also, book 2 adds dual narration, a definite plus. I recommend 1.5x speed, but have now decided this is a series I can get behind. Here’s hoping book 3 isn’t too far away.
