About this listen

A woman with no past holds the key to a brighter future for a gruff detective with big dreams and bigger aspirations.

Kim - a name that may not even be hers - hasn’t had it easy in life for the past few years. She’s struggled to survive after waking up with no memories in a world where identification is a necessity. By chance she’s come into contact with the one person who thinks that her newfound abilities might be the solution to saving more lives than just hers. Can she learn to trust someone else when she can’t even trust herself?

Those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

Though Kim now has the aid of a detective to help her solve her own tragic mystery, will he choose instead to use her abilities to his own advantage for his cases? Even worse, will Frank still want to help the amnesiac once he realizes just what kind of person is hiding under her forgotten memories? It’s unknown how anyone will react when they find out the truth....

aneat twist on an established plot

First legalities, I was given this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I do not have to give any particular rating and have rated Rouge a 1 star because I thought it was awful. There's a narrator there that doesn't try to hard to change to a male voice and in doing so allows the listener to hear the male voice on their own. the characters were superbly written and although I have a small issue with the way the detective is allowed so much freedom to let the partnership happen that's my singular complaint. Very well written, Very well preformed. Great characters Awesome story. Warning some scenes are very sexual graphic and hard to listen to at times.

Not bad

A young woman with no memory and a unique ability teams up with an overly ambitious police officer to solve crimes. As they solve the horrendous crimes, Kim's stability starts to crumble until her memory finally returns with a shocking revelation.

This was an interesting listen. Ms. Jones chronicles the slow decline of Kim case by case until her past is finally revealed.

The case Kim and Frank solve are very over-simplified and unrealistically solved, but that is where the plot twist comes into play; the cases are basically just the backdrop for Kim's development and decline.

The narration was okay, not as engaging as the previous book I reviewed, but pleasant.
