About this listen

Soon to be a major motion picture starring Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba!

In this second volume, Roland encounters three mysterious doorways on a deserted beach along the Western Sea. Each one enters into a different person's life in New York - here, he joins forces with the defiant young Eddie Dean and with the beautiful, brilliant, and brave Odetta Holmes in a savage struggle against underworld evil and otherworldly enemies. They also become the companions, forming a ka-tet, who will assist him on his quest to save the Dark Tower.

LOVED IT!!!

Absolutely gripping & beautifully performed.
I will listen to it many more times!!
Reading Stephen King is difficult for me; for some reason his style of writing is hard to read for my brain but HEARING his art makes it possible for me to get lost in his creations.
He, King, now one of my FAVORITES and this
series is AMAZING!!!

Amazing Narrator

This is part of an epic series, pulling story moments from other books by Stephen King and completing as good of an adventure as Lord of the Rings. The narrator of this version makes this story better. He captures the characters and seamlessly switched between them making it easy to tell who is speaking or thinking without being told. I have read this book many times before, and this was my favorite reading.

I freaking love this story.

I didn't know what I was in for with this but I cannot stop listening to this story. I've gotten through the first and second book in just about 6 sittings.

phenomenal!

I read these books when I was a younger man, I enjoyed them thoroughly as a man-child immensely.
now that I am in my forties I realise that the story stands the test of time as well as any I have ever read or heard. love the characters. for years and years my favorite book written by King was through the eyes of the dragon, mainly because of the way the story was told. these books are in the same vein, a beautiful tale that brings all the emotions in the spectrum with you, wherever you go.

at first I wasn't sure about Frank's voice, but it quickly grew on me and he is adept at making multiple characters feel real and different!
