Ok
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I probably wouldn't recommend this book only bc trying to listen to it can be very hard at times bc it seems a little boring. The book seems like an ok story but the narrater is a little boring :(
What other book might you compare The Clue of the New Shoe to and why?
No book that I can think of I can compare this book to.
What about Peter Hosking’s performance did you like?
He's got a very clear voice & easy to understand to but he made it hard to listen to at times bc his voice seemed like it droned on.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Love the feel
The only reason I don't give this book five stars is that it isn't "great literature". Loved the feel of a different place and time, loved the lack of violence, loved the accent. Want more Upfield/Hosking for sure!

I thoroughly enjoyed this masterful read!
Where does The Clue of the New Shoe rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At the top of my list for fiction.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The protaganist - the Inspector - he was everything you would wish an "Inspector" to be - capable and competent as an officer of the law, with a wry sense of humor and a deep appreciation for what is really important is life.
Which character – as performed by Peter Hosking – was your favorite?
The coffin maker - i looked forward eagerly to the Inspector's every visit to him.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the Inspector was temporarily locked in his coffin.
Any additional comments?
I tried this book on a , but loved it from the first page,an have bought more of the Inspector's books since then.

Thoughtful, delightful
What did you love best about The Clue of the New Shoe?
The characters, their honesty, their humanness, their lives
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I enjoyed being inside Boney's head and listening to his reasonings.
What about Peter Hosking’s performance did you like?
The accent for each character - I truly could tell which person was speaking by the way Peter was talking and it was easy to distinguish them.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
SPOIL ALERT - When the wife confessed her small part in the deed and her husband put his crippled hands on her head...and then Boney's resolution to the matter. I truly loved him.
Any additional comments?
No ugly violence, no awful swear words - just pure entertainment, mystery and real life. I will download more of these.
