About this listen

The thrills and chills are far from over in the third novel from Bram Stoker Award winner and master of scare, horror legend Adam Cesare.

Quinn has just survived yet another bloody run-in with the murderous clown Frendo, but somehow still she knows this won’t be the last. Tired of being hunted and seeing innocent people hurt, Quinn believes the only way to beat the horror is to take justice into her own hands—and stop the Frendo followers herself. Little does she know that this path will take her across cornfields and state lines, to where she will have to face the most dangerous and bloody menace yet: True believers.

It’s an all-new tale in this terrifying trio series about the villains inside us all, from the master of slashers and suspense, award-winning author Adam Cesare.

Clown in a Cornfield was 2020’s Bram Stoker Award Winner for Superior Achievement in a Young Adult Novel.

Some of the most intriguing horror I’ve read in a while

I absolutely love these characters. The story is compelling, rich, and has a lot of nuance to it. The performance is excellent as well. Definitely a strong entry into this series

It was ok.

I’ve listened to the previous two books and they had their good moments but something about this one just didn’t really click with me. All of the adults sounded like they had slurred speech or shrieked and it just kind of took me out of the story.

Dramatic Reader

I absolutely love the voice of this book, she knows how to voice act. The voices that were in pain were spookily accurate.

Horror for Our Modern Times

What makes Cesare’s Clown series so fantastic is how it weaves in the most troubling aspects of our current moment—from online conspiracy theories, to moral panics, to reactionary religious and political movements. That veracity helps the big, theatrical aspects of the series feel more grounded while indulging in the visual spectacle of horror and action films. These are books with fantastic characters, thrilling twists and carefully-constructed scenes, all crafted to maximize impact. They’re particularly good in audio format, as the narrator not only evokes a wide range of characters with ease but invests them with a sense of edgy tension.

Pseudo-Amish Clown Cult

There is something to be said for horror that doesn’t just ignore the current social and political climates, but takes them to heart, showcasing the fears of the average person in a cutting but fresh and fun way.
Every second of this story had me fully engaged. Shuddering, gasping, laughing, crying… well done. I like that this book doesn’t hide the fact that it’s about Alt-Right Extremism. The characters let you know that directly, and this makes so much even more chilling. It hits even harder knowing that the elections are in a few short weeks.
Everything about this book, I love. I can not stress that enough. This series is wonderful, but books 1&2 don’t even begin to compare to the masterpiece that is Clown In A Cornfield 3: Church Of Friendo.

Odd

I liked it but it just didn’t seem to fit well. It was very odd and seemed to be lacking a full plot

Another great addition to the story!

We've seen our heroine battle in a cornfield, a college, and now, everywhere. Frendo's followers are gathering. But why? And where?

As usual, this reads like a movie. Action, adventure, guts. It's bloody fun.

Narrator is perfect. Her voices are spot on.

Part Three is just as good as the first two

This continues the story of Quinn Maybrook and the madness started from the first two books. Church of Frendo doesn’t disappoint.
