About this listen
Pickax loves a big occasion. The Great Food Expo is about to begin, introducing new restaurants, country inns, food specialty shops and a new food page in the "Moose County Something." Lurking in the background is a killer determined to make this an event Pickax City will never forget.
The Expo begins with a literal bang: a bomb wrecks the hotel, killing a housekeeper and causing extensive damage. Luckily for Pickax, Qwill is on the scene, his moustache twitching with suspicions that this bomb was intended as something stronger than a warning to someone. His evidence: Koko and Yum Yum's new interest in cheese, especially Gruyere, Brie and Feta. Qwill and the Siamese are on a case that will demand all their feline intuition and mustachioed insight!

Entertaining but predictable
This series was recommended by a friend who said it was very funny. I think if I didn't have that expectation I would have enjoyed it more. It was humorous but no out loud laughs from me. Also I didn't Luke the narrators voice, again based a prejudicial expectations.

Irresistibly Implausible
Fun, lighthearted mystery novel. Not for those seeking grit, but great literary escapism. While there's a high body count, descriptions of violence are kept minimum. (Heads up, possible spoiler: while mostly easy listening, this novel does contain some descriptions of spousal abuse.) This is among the stronger Cat Who titles, and Guidall's narration is fantastic.

Smile and say Cheese
When cheese is the basic star you know the writer is good. (learned a lot about cheese) It's amazing how Lilian was able to make cheese one of the star components and make it work so well in the story. Love the easy pace. Just lay back and listen. Enjoy!
