Very enjoyable reading....
This book is in my comfort zone. Very relaxing, yet engaging and interesting. I love the way the cats are front and center in the story. Anyone who loves their cat can identify with Jim Qwilleran's devotion to his two Siamese cats. The audio book makes me laugh out loud the times Mason Adams gives voice to the cat's yowls. Each book in this series is oh so collectible. I have enjoyed this book more than once!

Wondrful
Mason. Adams is an excellent reader. The voice changes for the characters are enthralling. Lilian Jackson Braun was one of the most amazing and winning authors of this time . Her books are always a pleasure, and when read by Mason Adams or George Guidall , they are treasures to be revisited again and again.

Disappointing
I have been a fan of the Cat Who books for years and have enjoyed reading & listening to many of them. This book however is missing a very important section of the story. Because that section is omitted the listener is asking what happened? At first I thought I had just missed it but upon backtracking I found that it just wasn't there. I hope the rest of the Cat Who books are not the same way. I was very disappointed in the way this book was abridged.

Big mistake
This series is wonderful and I only listen to the audiobooks as a way to pass the time while doing chores but this is the first time that I have listened to the abridged version of a title. Since I have never not liked a title before, I didn't read the reviews - big mistake. Now I wish that I did because it would have save me a credit. This version is horrible - I felt as if a huge pieces of the story was missing and they were never explained. I felt confused almost the whole time. The story jumped from everyone trying to guess who a mystery woman was to her writing a letter to Qwill when she left town. It was so bad that I stopped listening to it!

Know this is an abridged book and key scenes gone
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If I had been more careful and noticed that this was a very abridged version. A 7 hour book is trimmed to less than 3. Too many keys scenes missing, including one that is critical to figuring out the ending.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Death of a Policeman by M.C. Beaton
Have you listened to any of Mason Adams’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narrator was very good, but impossible to fix a badly chopped up book.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I have read the book. It was great. I do plan to buy the abridged version and enjoy it.
