'Amber's series breaks the rules in the best way. Her main character is strong, capable, and unapologetically powerful. There is no damsel here. This story is filled with fast-paced action, an in-depth world, and a romance that goes from simmer to boil. If you like romantasy, read this!' RAVEN KENNEDY

Don't miss this addictive BookTok sensation - a perfectly steamy, high-stakes, TRUE enemies-to-lovers, dark epic romantasy!

WHERE THERE ARE GODS, THERE ARE ALSO MONSTERS . . .

For a thousand years, the Etherworld has known peace.
Until now.

Many centuries ago, desperate to save her dying sister, Dianna made a deal with Kaden, a monster far worse than any nightmare. Locked in servitude to him, she is forced to hunt down an ancient relic held by her most dangerous enemies: an army led by Samkiel, the World Ender.

After the Gods War, Samkiel hid from everything, denying his crown and deserting his people. Now, an attack on those he loves sends him back to the realm he never wished to return to, and into the sights of an enemy he had hoped to forget.

With every world at stake, Dianna and Samkiel are forced to set aside their animosity and work together, before all is lost . . .

Don't miss the next books in the series, THE THRONE OF BROKEN GODS and THE DAWN OF THE CURSED QUEEN. . .

'A wicked ride from beginning to heart shattering end. Leaving me literally screaming for more. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to get more our morally corrupt heroine who you can't help but root for, along with the giggle inducing banter between her and the heroic god Samkiel' HANNAH NICOLE MAERHER

'Once in a while I read a series that reminds me of just why I love enemies to lovers, slow burn, and morally grey characters so much. Gods and Monsters is that series. This is perfection. Amber Nicole's Dianna is the FMC of my soul' NISHA J. TULI

Personal record: # of attempts before the story sticks

It took me multiple attempts before I got to a point in the story where I finally decided to keep going. But when the story finally does click, you won’t even realize you’re all in. You’ll be too busy giving every bit of your attention to the story! The FMC is a badass and that makes a big difference in the tone and believability of her character and story. The MMC also has depth to his personality which provided me the rare gift of two main characters who are likable and interesting enough to actually care about them both individually. It’s pretty heavy on violence and light on romance for most of the book. However when things FINALLY kick in, you’ll be glad you persevered! The female narrator does a very good job but they dropped the ball when they didn’t hire a male narrator with a voice worthy of Liam. It feels lopsided. I’m moving on to Book 2 and really hope that at the minimum, it stays the course with the level I’ve come to expect. I’m hoping the characters continue to grow individually and together, leading to increased intimacy and erotic adventures befitting their level of love, with results so smoking hot we, the readers, can’t help but experience the 🔥 warm and tingly 🥵 feels we all deserve!

Painful Dialogue

After reading so many great reviews, I was very excited to dive into this New World. Perhaps my experience was colored by the narrator, which, in my opinion was very poorly done. None of the characters have any depth. The world building is shallow at best. The dialogue is so juvenile, and their interactions feel like a cheesy therapy session . For people who have lived many many centuries, they talk like millennials and have no life experiences or talents or life lessons to draw on. Unfortunately, this series ends for me at Book 1.

Love!

Amazing performance! The first part of the book was a bit slow but I really like it when Diana and Liam's story picked up!

This voice actress!!

The story was great but this voice actress deserves a raise. She was phenomenal! She outshined full cast books. She’s a one woman show I love her

The narration was good

The Book of Azrael was confusing and I found that I couldn’t connect with any of the characters. This book isn’t for me.

Epic World Building

Epic world building, I mean, you have to be patient. Not that it is boring as you get to know the world but it takes almost half the book to start to feel comfortable with the world and all the characters. Once the story gets going, it is really cinematic and flow so well.

Liam and Diana, A+ banter. Be patient here as well because the slow burn is loooooong but worth it.

Love the fact the FMC is essentially not loveable in the beginning and it is so refreshing to have a MMC love interest that does not teach the FMC, but evolve with her.

Amazing plot and morally grey characters

Here’s the thing. I’m obsessed with Samkiel and Dianna. Gods their true enemies to friends to lovers is done so freaking well. I mean are they even true enemies if one doesn’t chop off the other’s hand?? 😂 But also the mental health struggles are portrayed in a raw and brutally honest manner. Dianna comforting and taking care of Samkiel were some of my favorite moments. And Dianna’s absolutely selfless love for her sister 😭. The ending is absolutely brutal and I saw it coming but that didn’t make it hurt any less.

The epic plot and world building are crafted in a way to keep you intrigued but not overwhelm. I have so many theories 😂. Perfect for fans of Crescent City.

Amazing story and narrator!

Despite the other reviews, I think the author and the narrator did an amazing job. To each their own, but I am extremely picky about who reads to me and I loved all aspects of this story. Spice was maybe a 2 🌶️ but all in all it was good character development and world building. Looking forward to the next book ❤️
