Listened to 6 Chapters, trying my hardest to get used to how the narrator reads. Unfortunately, I cannot. The end of every sentence sounds the same. It’s very hard to get into the story when there is no voice inflection. I will buy the book.

What can I say about this? It was a joy to listen to. The pacing felt natural for the most part, I never felt that the characters got handed an easy blow. They always had to earn their triumphs and that was refreshing. The magic system, the dragons, and the world building were all top tier.

I wish there was more character development with Raeve. I felt like we were heading there a few times but it never happened. I assume that the next book will explore more of that and her grappling with all she has to come to terms with. I wish we got more POV of Kaan, it was always a delight when we got to hear more of the male Voice Actor.

Speaking of Voice Actors, WOW. Both performances were stunning. I genuinely hope the next book will have the same performers. I struggle with audiobooks that don’t delineate voices, I just won’t buy them, but these two…the accents, the tone, the collaboration. Wow! Some dual POV books with different actors don’t go to the lengths that these two do. The accents with different characters are consistent with both actors, it’s never jarring and I appreciate it so much.

I’m excited for the next book!!

Story is fine. A lot of world building, need the hard copy of the book to use the glossary to get a better understanding of what was going on at times. Has multiple POVs which I found made it even harder to stay focused. A lot of explaining about how the characters feel with minimal story progression. Won’t be continuing the series.

What I didn’t like is that it ended in a cliffhanger I didn’t see anywhere that it was the start of a series

4.5⭐️ for each is more accurate, but it was worth rounding up rather than down.

This was a refreshing piece in terms of being a unique story line with lots of twists and turns. some of the recent hypes have felt like let downs but this certainly was not. Once I was into I loved it, but it did take a touch longer to get into than I’m used to. Looking forward to book 2.

How anyone could ever give the narrator four stars or more has got to be fake. It’s literally like listening to Siri read you a book. Now listen, I wont be COMPLETELY hateful… she is incredibly talented with CHARACTER voices. But the descriptive text between character conversations is literally like she plugged it into an AI generator. I can’t even follow the story it’s so bad. So I’ll try reading it but it feels ruined. To the author GET YOURSELF STELLA BLOOM.

The first 300 pages I flew through. The next 400 were okay. The world building is amazing and atmospheric but the central plot takes so long to unravel. It is done really well. But this could’ve used more pages. I don’t think 700 pages was enough to do this first book justice. Can’t wait to see where this goes but I feel like it was missing more to the ending.

1st off this book was amazing! It made me happy, sad and mad! I cried, I never cry at books! Thank you Sarah! So much!! Also, the voice actors are great- you feel like you are in the book

I started and almost didn’t read it. I then Skipped Prologue and just read book and was fabulous - looked for 2nd in series but nothing yet! Hoping there is a continued book! DONT read prologue until end.
