About this listen
She was ruined by an orc. Now, his enraged ex wants to finish the job…
In a world of orcs and powerful men, Kitty Clarendon is a bubbly, beautiful woman about town—until she's dumped by her benefactor and thrown onto the streets. As she's drowning her sorrows, she meets… an orc.
He's rash, reckless, and on the rebound—but his laugh is contagious, his touch warm and wicked. And for one perfect, forbidden night, he's all Kitty's darkest dreams come true.
But by morning, there's only shame. Regret. The orc quickly makes his escape, abandoning Kitty to a devastating discovery. She's been compromised. With his… orcling.
The orc never returns, and Kitty is left ill, impoverished, and hopeless. Until finally, another orc finds her. Varinn, of Clan Grisk. The first orc's best friend. And… his very recent ex.
Varinn can't hide his jealousy or his bitter, broken rage—but he refuses to leave Kitty behind. Soon, she's under his stern supervision and on her way to Orc Mountain. Back to the orc who so cruelly spurned her. The orc who's been losing his own battles and still longs for Varinn's firm handling… and his heart.
Can Kitty bring two hostile, heartbroken orcs back together for her orcling's sake? Or will they break her own heart, too?
An angsty, full-length, enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance. Comes after The Governess and the Orc but can be listened to as a standalone. Happily ever after guaranteed.

Scoring a job at the exclusive and secretive Hotel Castle Verna is exactly what I need to pay off my debt and avoid a punishment I might not survive. The guests are a little eccentric, but they are great tippers. All I have to do is ignore the strange sights, smells, and sounds coming from the guest rooms, and I can remain gainfully employed. Simple, right? Except there's one guest at the hotel who's always watching me with his mismatched black and white eyes.

I accidentally launched an escape pod on my miserable honeymoon—with me on it—and crash-landed in the middle of an alien jungle on a forbidden "emerging civilization" planet, breaking about a hundred Cosmic Syndicate laws. Oh, and I robbed a hot lizard guy with sexy black eyes, the most colorful scales I've ever seen, and a powerful prehensile tail that curls up like a cinnamon roll. Even though I can't understand anything he's saying, my new reptilian friend turns out to be as sweet as honey and spicier than the seasoning he used on the meat I stole from his camp.

Love the new narrator!
I have to say I loved the old narrator but I have to say this new narrator is even better! Wonderful, masterful performance! The voices he used for each character were so distinct it made the dialog soo good. His vocal range is amazing and he did great with female voices, especially the FMC, Kitty. With some audiobook narration it can be difficult to discern between dialog and internal monologe. Great job! I hope he continues to narrate this series in the future because it's one of my favorites...
So on to the story.
The story starts with the meeting of Kitty and Thrain. Kitty is a former, ahem escort ahem, who latched onto a wealthy trader in order to escape that life and has been his mistress for several years. To her shock and outrage Charles decides to dump her out of the blue, despite all her hardwork with the trading business, earning him contracts and such. Devastated and lost, Kitty finds herself drinking heavily at a pub where she meets Thrain.
Thrain struggles with alcoholism which is driven by a variety issues stemming from past trauma, stressful duties, and his deep unrequited love. Thrain has been in love with his BFF Varrin since childhood, and while Varrin seems to reciprocate those feelings, he denies Thrain a true relationship. Varrin desperately wants a son and finding a woman willing to mate an orc is impossible enough without expecting to find one willing to mate both of the. So Varrin has attempted to keep Thrain at a distance, despite his longing, because he doesn't want to hurt Thrain whe

Complex but engaging love triad
This is my first foray into the Orc Sworn series and I was pleasantly surprised. I read a lot of monster romance but this story intrigued me. The dynamics between the characters was compelling and I really liked how their love bloomed for each other. They each brought a necessary component to the relationship. Thrain’s sobriety journey was supported by Kitty and Varrin with care but also realistic feelings. Spicier than expected with lots of toys and fluids- so skip if that’s not your jam. It’s also a long story-it takes a bit for the guys to really see Kitty’s worth but the payoff is excellent. Looking forward to other tales.

So much angst
I’ve been eagerly awaiting this next installment of the Orc Sworn series featuring our favorite Grisk Disaster Boys who were introduced back in Heiress and the Orc. This book did not disappoint for complex character development, angst, and spice.
The effect that substance abuse has on an individual and its effect on relationships is respectfully and realistically represented, as is the recovery process.
It was nice to dive back into Clan Grisk and revisit favorite characters from previous books.
The bonus epilogue from Varinn’s POV at the end is a nice extra. James Joseph’s narration was great.

The inclusion…
I loved this ! No just a threesome truly a triad of love. I really enjoyed how Varinn and Thrain always included Kitty. Cared for her equally. And loved her throughly in more ways than one! 🥵😏 I enjoyed this MMF romance much more than The Maid and the Orcs. I don’t feel Baldr and Drafli cared or loved Alma like Varinn and Thrain did Kitty. Drafli never showed tenderness to Alma he seemed to just tolerate her. Where as in this Varinn although he was hurt in the beginning grew to love Kitty and not just tolerated her for Thrains sake. He truly fell in love with her. So did Thrain. They all shared their love. Where as The Maid an the Orcs didn’t. Last but not least. The new narrator James Joseph was EVERYTHING!!! Loved him.

Love the Orcs!!
I didn’t like that it ended! Lol. I’m always left wanting more! I love how it jumps forward once or twice so we know what’s going on with them several years down the line.

Another Excellent Story
She has done it again. The story was excellent and the new narrator did a fantastic job. After hearing Shane narrate for so long, I was worried about the new narrator having too soft of a voice. He did a spectacular job!

couldn't wait to hear about these two.
this narrator was okay. he did a good job however Shane East in my opinion was the man for these books.
this one was slower paced. I did appreciate that this one had less lies and misconceptions. I did feel like I needed a little more drama in it because it felt like the book concluded in the middle of it and the second half of the book was just living about their lives. It is a slower paced story than the other books and it was enjoyable.

Felt like it was written by a guy.
10 hours in and neither of the guys are giving anything back to the girl. I typically love the MMF dynamic, but this is really not for me. I admit it is well written and plenty ssmutty. the fmc is obedient and a super sub. not my cup of tea.

The Beauty and the Orcs
First, the story: This is the eighth book in the Orc Sworn series and I loved it just as much as the seven previous offerings. I love that this book was deeply emotional and tackled some tragic topics without being quite as angsty as some of the previous books in the series. It was perfect and fabulous and wonderful! It made me hot, and it made me smile, and there were parts that made me cry.
And now, on to the narrator. I think I found "The Lady And The Orc" the day it was released on audible. When I discovered this book, I was incredibly captivated by the story and Shane East's performance. So when I discovered on Facebook earlier this year that, after the seventh book, "The Governess and the Orc", future books would have a new narrator, I'm not gonna lie. There was dramatic emoting. Fake sobbing on a diva level. And even, some very secret tears.
Shane East did an incredible job with the first seven books, and it was the first time in my years upon years of reading audiobooks that I wasn't completely certain if I was reading a series because of the story or the narrator. That has legit never happened to me. So I started "The Beauty and the Orcs" with great trepidation.
But my fellow readers, I shouldn't have been concerned. James Joseph did a gorgeous, fabulous, perfect, masterful job with this book. I didn't feel as though the characters were being voiced by somebody new, and he did such an incredible job at keeping a consistent accent and pronunciation from the seven books prior.
If you, like me, had a diva tantrum, when discovering the change in narration, never fear. This book, in story and narration, is just as perfect as all the rest of the series.
