Publisher's summary

He's fallen too far to save… but his enemy is going to try.

In a world of warring orcs and men, Kesst of Clan Ash-Kai is a pawn. A pretty, pliant plaything bound to the cruelest orcs in the realm. Until the new healer storms in.

He's huge, hostile, and hideous, with a powerful scarred body and terrifying ancient magic. It only takes one disastrous meeting before he and Kesst are bitter enemies, and Kesst vows to see the vile brute destroyed. Then a sudden deadly attack hurls his helpless body straight at the healer's feet.

Kesst fully expects to be mocked, belittled, abandoned to his doom—instead, his new enemy picks him up, soothes his wounds, and carries him home.

Soon Kesst is trapped in a tiny sick room beneath Orc Mountain, caught in the thrall of the healer's impossible magic. In the surprising gentleness of his touch. In the strength of his stubborn, seductive safety…

With his horrid handlers close on their scent, Kesst can't possibly be falling for his forbidden foe… can he? Can a healer save him from his sins… or destroy him?

The Sins of the Orc is a dark, angsty, MM fantasy romance novella. It comes before the Orc Sworn series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. Happily ever after guaranteed.

Another wonderful story

I read this story when it came out in 2022.
Loved it in print, The audible rendition was great, I was a bit concerned about how the change in narrator would be. James Joseph did an excellent job portraying the various characters. I look forward to his future performances.

Always fantastic

Finley’s books are always amazing, and this is no different! I love getting a peak into alert and Eft’s story, before we meet them in The Lady and the Orc

Excellent narration. Steamy story

Overall a good short listen. Ready for the next book.

The narrator really brought the story to life. World building was interesting too.

Wonderful book!

James gave a great nuanced performance! Finley Fenn’s writing is fabulous as always. Kesst’s story is heartbreaking and he deserves all the HEAs.

I'll Glady Enjoy These Sins

I have not read anything else in this universe, and I have a strong inclination that I would not be interested in the heterosexual stories, juuust based on how the universe works and some of the more problematic elements. Totally in favor of those various kinks, but just not going to be for me in this context. With that said, I wasn’t necessarily expecting a lot from this book, and I can be quite the rough critic.

However, I ended up being pleasantly surprised. The driving force of the novel is very clearly the sex, which I find very well done. It knows what it is, what it’s supposed to be, and it just exists in that place.

Additionally, the balance of the other elements in the story are also handled very well. You get enough worldbuilding to grasp how things are working, even with this clearly being a later addition/offshoot to the series at large. And that worldbuilding is also done in a natural way. You’re not exposited at, or dealing with some fish out of water element that’s nigh on painful. Even with a character that exhibits a bit of that element everything we learn as readers flows very nicely with the world and the characters.

And with regard to the characters, they are also handled very well. You get a good sense of both the main characters and the supporting ones. You understand fears, motivations, expectations, etc as they are needed. You get to know about characters both internally and externally. Obviously the main characters, and Kesst specifically, get the most internal expression, but the way that gets challenged by others is very interesting.

It’s not a book that requires a lot of contemplation. It’s a raunchy romance, and it does that well. But I have a lot of respect for a book that can balance all these key elements for the genre and style being written in. That’s no easy feat and the skill that is wielded by Fenn is impressive.

The narration is also very good. James Joseph is highly engaged and exuberant in the best possible ways. He really draws you in with his narration and makes you feel it. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in the way he tells the story and voices the characters. Just wonderfully done all around.

Kest and Efterar

Love this back story on one of the strongest and most beloved couples on Orc Mountain. What happens when a Princess meets his idea of a frog? fireworks

This entry is narrated by James Joseph and it's wonderful. He has a great take on the accents and speaking Alekash... had my heart exploding.

Eh

This was just really boring for me, struggled to finish it. Some of the scenes were hot but honestly I struggled to connect with the MCs .
