About this listen

Anarchism has been both a vision of a peaceful, cooperative society — and an ideology of revolutionary terror. Since the term itself — anarchism — is a negation, there is a great deal of disagreement on what the positive alternative would look like. The black flag comes in many colors.

The Anarchist Handbook is an opportunity for all these many varied voices to speak for themselves, from across the decades. These were human beings who saw things differently from their fellow men. They fought and they loved. They lived and they died. They disagreed on much, but they all shared one vision: Freedom.

A great summary of anarchist philosophy.

A great summary of anarchist philosophy from original philosophers, taking a fair and uncritical sampling of differing flavors.

Great dive into anarchist thinking.

I really enjoyed the essays by Lysander Spooner and David Friedman. This was a great listen, and I would recommend this to anyone who is questioning the current political system we live under. There are a lot or really interesting ideas in this book.

An outstanding and well researched book

Michael Malice may not be the smartest person in the world; but he certainly is in the top two. Here he has compiled a carefully chosen group of essays that provoke new thoughts and points of view without being preachy. Well Done, Mike!

Helping us think more clearly about politics

Anarchism is dismissed as utopian, impractical, and irrelevant only by those people who fear freedom and responsibility : Tenured academics, politicians, legal scholars, state employees, bureaucrats, and the police. This book opens your eyes the the double-think that you're not even aware governs your thoughts. It invites us to think about politics free from the spectre of paternalistic, soft tyranny.

I bought the book and listened

Michael Malice is the shortest, but often times most brilliant person I have gained an interest in listening to over the past 2-3 years. I cannot wait for the White Pill, but In the meantime I’ll read the other works. I’m 5’9”, and that’s about all I have to say about that. Kudos MM if your reading this, I truly enjoyed this.

The choice is yours to make. Live free or don’t. Also your choice. Your choice isn’t mine, tho.

Fantastic Read (listen)

I did not always agree with the solutions posited, but the criticisms of the state were on point. A very enlightening read (listen). Fantastic performances, though Yeonmi Park's reading may be difficult for those not accostumed to her accent to decipher.

Hasnas and rothbard make it well worth the listen

Murray n rothbard’s anatomy of the state and John hasnas’s myth of the rule of law make this audio book get a 5 stars review from me. If you haven’t ever heard nor read them, they are freely found on the net and maybe even free audio YouTubes, but the voices for both of these that malice picked were brilliant!!
