About this listen

Narrated in duet by Alastair Haynesbridge and Sophie Daniels, this is the first book in the hilarious, spicy small town Queen's Cove series.

My arrogant fake fiancé? I can't stand him.

Cocky and charismatic Emmett Rhodes isn’t the relationship kind of guy, but now that he’s running for mayor of our small town, his bachelor past is hurting the campaign.

Thankfully, I'm the last woman who would ever fall for him.

We're total opposites—he's a golden retriever and I'm sharp and snarky, but he’ll cosign on my restaurant loan if I play his devoted fiancée. Between romantic dates, a prom night re-do, and visits to a secret beach, things heat up, and the line between real and ruse is lit on fire. I see another side of Mr. Popular, and now I wonder if I was all wrong.

We can’t keep our hands off each other, but it’s all for show…right?

A sizzling, hilarious, enemies-to-lovers fake dating rom-com with an HEA. This is the first book in the Queen’s Cove series.

There was a lot more to this than I thought there would be going in. I really enjoyed this story and appreciated that the barriers for their romance weren’t only internal struggles and that there were some external issues that added some drama and tension as well. And while there was drama it wasn’t over the top or unbelievable and it was resolved pretty quickly. The humor was cute and silly but not cringy. I actually laughed out loud a few times.

Plus duet narration is my favorite so that made it even better. The narrators fit the characters well and I really enjoyed listening to them.

I absolutely adored this cute story about fake dating. Emmett and Avery are cute! The banter is so good! Highly recommend.

Emmett is the town charmer who decided to run for mayor, Avery has a dream to own the Arbutus restaurant but she needs a co-signer co signer for the loan. They strike up a deal. Neither one of thought they would actually fall for the other…

So cute!

Whoa I wanted to tell Emmet to pump the brakes a little there. Every time she agreed to something, he threw out another request. There was no third act breakup and I thought the third act conflict was handled well. I enjoyed their banter too.

Who the heck edited this?? I’ve never winced so many times hearing all the grammatical errors! I escape into books to hear good grammar, not constant English abuse! Ugh!

I liked this a lot, it’s an easy read and I liked the progression of frenemies to lovers. Avery is independent and her only goal in the next few years is to buy the restaurant she manages and fulfill her dream of owning the restaurant. Emmett loves people, his family, friends, and has never met a stranger. He needs a new challenge and notices there’s a change needed in town hall and decides to run for mayor so the town he loves can get the much-needed upgrades. The polls aren’t as favorable as he’d like — enter an agreement with Avery to boost his family man/trustworthy mayoral candidacy and a way to secure Avery’s dream restaurant! It’s funny, cute, spicy, heartwarming.

This book had a cute storyline but had to much spice and language for me. If you like to play drinking games just take a shot every time this book says cock and you will be drunk by the 4th chapter. Will not be finishing the series.

Cute story

MMC felt inauthentic and his spice was forced. It was like the author heard "This is what readers like" and put all those lines in this book, but it didnt fit, it just made it cringe.

the story flowed nicely but did seem a little rushed at the end. the characters banter back and forth was great and there were many times I literally laughed out loud at them. the narrators where perfect for the characters and really brought them to life. can't wait to listen to the next one in the series.

great performance and cute story
