Publisher's summary

Hes the hot, tattooed bad boy that I traded insults with...and now he wants my help?

Knox Holland is in a jam. After an incredible first year on the pro motocross circuit, he should be on top of the world. Instead, his bad reputation has landed him without a team. He's untouchable and desperate to turn it around.

Which is how he ends up at my gym asking me to train him. As a college gymnast with two Olympic medals to my name, I know a thing or two about the pressure to succeed. Last season I choked and then injured myself before I could show the world that I'm not a twenty-year-old has-been.

Focused on the future, I can't afford to get distracted. But I recognize the desperation in Knox's eyes, and I cant say no to him, either.

It should have been an easy task, but nothing about Knox is easy. One minute were arguing, and the next I'm enjoying his shirtless handstands a little too much.

Falling for him would be a mistake...

Burnout is a sports romance with a cocky bad boy, spice, banter, and a happily ever after.

The duet narration was top notch!

When I saw the the male lead in Burnout was going to be Knox, a brother of Hendrick's from Jenshak's Tempting the Player, I was so excited! Although I don't know much about motocross, I was excited to dive in and learn. And having both main characters be athletes was fantastic- I do have some knowledge about gymnastics, so reading about Avery's sport was definitely fun. I absolutely loved the banter between grumpy Knox and sunshine Avery, and watching their slow burn romance grow was so enjoyable- I especially loved that they developed a friendship first. This was so good! The duet narration by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon was top notch- they are two of my favorites and they never disappoint.

Fun & cute story with a fantastic narration!!!

This might be my new favorite book from Rebecca!!! It’s such an incredibly cute, fun and sweet romance!! Avery & Knox had off the charts banter and chemistry which kept the build up of their romance flowing while keeping you captured into their adorable good girl/bad boy dynamic. Also, two sports one book? Yes please! The combination of motocross and gymnastics was so well done with the perfect mixture of both sports in this book. This is the first story in a new series and it already has me SO excited for the rest of the Holland brothers!!

🏍Tattooed Motocross Hero
🤸‍♀️Gymnastics Heroine
🏫College Romance
🤝Training Together
👑Calls Her Princess

The book is all about Avery & Knox who are both trying to get back into their sports. Avery is an Olympic gymnast who ended up with an injury and is training to try and get back there. While Knox is a pro motocross rider who got dropped from his team after an incident and now wants to strengthen his skills to get back on it. They are two opposites who end up working together through mutual friends and things aren’t easy from the start!

🎧THIS AUDIOBOOK!!! I don’t even have much to say about it because it was just such a cute, enjoyable and EASY listen!!! Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon gave an incredible performance in this duet narration and gave this story so much life. Both of their voices completely fit their character’s personalities while also bringing out the different feelings of each athlete. Together their voices flowed perfectly together and just felt like a realistic college couple in the audio! Definitely recommend listening to this one!!!!

So Good!

This was my second read from this author. Burnout is a slow burn but is so worth it! Teddy is one of my favorite narrators. This was my first from Erin, but they were so great together.

Knox and Avery slow burn their way to love

This book started a little slow for me but once I got further into the story and the more emotional issues emerged, the bad boy Knox Holland raced into my heart. The idea of a motor-cross star and Olympic gymnast getting together was interesting. Knox is known for his hot head and tempered ways. Avery is extremely disciplined, careful & determined to overcome her injury. We quickly learn that Knox has some of these same qualities, determined to get himself back on a motor-cross team. He balances Avery's somewhat "uptight" attitude and encourages spontaneity in her. They really balance each other out. They both feel extreme pressure to get better and be at the top of their game. Knox has sacrificed so much for his brothers, putting his own dreams and goals on hold in order to raise them and be the :"father figure" they needed. Deep down Knox is a big cinnamon roll, not only for his brothers but for Avery as well. He's extremely loyal and watchful over his family. This new adult sports romance ended up stealing my heart. Opposites attract and the chemistry between Knox and Avery is palpable. They banter back and forth, tease one another, have fun together and support each other in their individual endeavors.
Couple things I loved:
💛Honestly, one of my favorite things about the story was Knox's relationship and love he has for all his brothers. It's quite endearing and only makes you love that "bad boy" even more
💛I love how Avery challenges Knox, not only physically in training but also emotionally in love
💛Knox's brothers are quick to tell him when he's being stupid and this is some real life, no holding back in the Holland household
💛You can tell Knox treasures Avery, calling daily, sending flowers constantly, it was so sweet
💛In the end, they decide they can and will make a way to work their long distance relationship work. It's hard but they are 100% there for one another

Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are quite possibly the most perfect duo in romcom narration! Everything they do is fantastic and elevates the humor in the story but also the emotions and heat! There's some sizzling that happens and these two can burn like the devil! They really cannot do any wrong in my book! If Teddy and Erin narrate it, you know it's gonna be fantastic!
I hope we get to read more about the Holland brothers because I fell in love with this family and the love and support they have for one another.

Fantastic

This book brought all the hot bad boy with the sexy banter. The buildup between Knox and Avery was intense and kept me guessing when they would finally give in to their attraction. I love everything this author writes. Every book has been great and I crave more but let me tell you that this one has jumped to the top of my favorites. It gave me so many emotions and feelings. Knox is so much more than his black clothes and motorcycle represent. This man is a keeper, he simply doesn't know it. He has sacrificed for his family and Avery will help him realize he deserves happiness too. Now, Avery is a fighter. Being an Olympic winner has put pressure on her to continue to compete at that level. When an injury hinders that, she needs to get her confidence back. In helping Know she will do just that. These two are total opposites but also alike in many ways. They work together and was such a great story. I laughed many times as well as teared up a few too. It has great characters with hopes for future books to continue as well and it has a great storyline. The research for each sport was put in and I learned a few things as well as I was entertained. I highly recommend this book.

Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon were both terrific. Loved their voices and how they brought Knox and Avery to life.

Amazing!!

LOVED THIS SO MUCH! This seriously so fun and perfect. As a someone who did gymnastics for 15 years I truly loved everything about this book! This definitely started as a little of enemies to lovers for Knox and Avery. Knox starts doing freestyle Motor-cross with one of his best friends and recommends him to train with Avery for some control in his tricks. Avery started to train Knox at the gym a few times a week and the banter between the two was so good! They were just doing casual but they started to fall for each other. The spice was perfect as well! 2 🌶️/5
This was the first book I had read/listened to by this author and I plan to read more!

Gymnast V/S Rider

This is a really cute storyline. The performance was endearing and kinda hot. The story between Knox and Avery was super cute and had enough spice to keep things interesting.

I don’t know a whole lot about motocross but I do know a few things about gymnastics - the author could have done a bit more research on gymnastics. The code of points (AKA the gymnastics Bible) is a great resource because her description of routines did not sound current. Also. Events are always completed is a specific order Floor/Vault/Bars/Beam. If you start on a different event it still follows the same order. At the final meet the team started on bars which would have made the next event beam, not vault. Also, if she is a AA gymnast and not an event specialist why did she only work one event for pretty much the whole book? Someone as perfectionistic as Avery would have dedicated more time on those events too. There are plenty of skills from bars that could have been used to prepare Knox for tricks.
