Publisher's summary

SHE USED TO BE THE WORLD'S GREATEST DAUGHTER, BUT COCAINE IS A HELL OF A DRUG.......

Dear America,

I just want to wake up in the morning without itching and scratching for a hit, feeling like I'll get sick if I don't feed my high. I'm tired of lying naked and afraid while strange men pump away inside of me, and sweat down on my trembling frame. Tired of looking up and seeing the devil in their eyes, as I dream of a life that doesn't resemble hell. I'm tired of being a sperm receptacle. Tired of being abused by demons for addictions I can't shake. Crack has become my everything. My food, clothing, and shelter from the storm. My entertainment, leisure, and everlasting pleasure. My reason for living and escape from reality. I just want the friends back who believed in me. I just want to hug the sister that pushed me and told me I could be anything. I just want the mother that nurtured and fought for me to be exceptional to look at me with respect and admiration. I just want to be free. I just want to be happy. I just want to be human again and do what people do. I just want what any daughter in the world wants in the end.......I just want my daddy.

Sincerely,

Reign Emerson

Eye opener!

All Reign wanted was her father’s love and all he did was constantly compared her to her sister! It was crazy how Handz introduced her to cocaine but redeemed himself in the end by helping Reign get clean. This story was a real eye opener!!

Read by a computer

Computer generated reading was very computer sounding. The slang or the urban language did not sound authentic

the AI voice was horrible for this particular book. the story was inspirational. I'll have to read the book and use my own voice.

The narrative was very different but ok

This book is so raw and informative. Of course drugs has touched someone in my family, but this book truly helped me understand the depth of the terrible experience. It’s worth listening to I enjoyed it

great storyline but

it has such depth and feeling that it needs a narrator who can give more... difference between the characters voices

Bad narrator

I listened to the story but the narration was horrible
I tried to get into the book but I couldn’t
Get a new narrator who will act the book out not just be nonchalant

Totally disappointed in the family crackhead!!!!!

I am 156 year old black woman. I have had family members on both sides of the drug game, some who sold the drugs some who used to drugs. Using virtual voice for this book Messed the whole book up!!!! The virtual voices of a white man Who cannot Even pronounce the profanity with the same slang that black people use. He mispronounced so many words. His sentences ran together. And don't let the end of a chapter come because you would think the announcing of a new chapter is the ending of the sentence he was using cause he never paused. The story line was adverage but of course we all know that's the story line for every crackhead. It's the way you tell the story which captivates the reader and keeps them coming back for your work and using virtual voice I will never come back for your work nor recommend it. There was nothing jaw dropping or anything to keep me on the edge of my seat. The only time that I was on the edge of my seat was when I cut the book off after 2 hours of it because I couldn't take anymore of the poor narration and it was only 3 hours and 44 minutes long. I am so glad this book is being offered for free because if not many many many many many people would be returning it.

Hard to Enjoy

Listening to a White man's voice read a story generated around African-American's while narrating as a Black person and saying the "N" word continuously throughout the story just angered me more and more. After Chapter 3, I gave up and deleted the book from my library. Come on, guys! Really? I CANNOT be the only person feeling this. I really wanted to listen to the end but it was feeling too fake and racist. The author needs to change that if she wants people to enjoy her work.
