Publisher's summary

Do you want to learn how to control your emotions, how not to get overwhelmed by the frenzy of modern society, the solutions and exercises for stress management, reducing worries and ways of developing self-discipline? If yes, then keep listening....

Although we live in an age of convenience, one where all we could need is made available at our fingertips, stress levels are at an all-time high. This may seem contradictory; however, when you think about the various roles that we play each and every day, convenience simply makes it easier to pack more in to a 24-hour period. So what are we to do about stress levels when the technology designed to make life easier simply enables our workaholic tendencies and over stimulating lifestyles?

The answer lies in a variety of solutions designed to get rid of stress and restore balance by helping you to slow down and recognize when you have taken on too much. But why is it important to eliminate and reduce stress in your life as well as recognize when you are simply taking on too much? It’s no secret that increased stress levels result in tempers flaring and bad habits forming, but stress also leads to a range of severe and sometimes life-threatening health conditions as well. Research has proven that increased levels of stress over prolonged periods can result in health problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, depression, anxiety and chronic fatigue. All of these health conditions can lead to long lasting and disabling physical effects that will majorly impact your enjoyment of life and that of those around you.

Throughout this book, we will focus on a variety of methods to reduce and eliminate stress. These methods will vary and include techniques and tools that can be implemented in a vast range of different lifestyles. We encourage you to choose at least one of the methods of stress reduction covered in this book to implement in to your daily routine. Why? Because we want you to be healthier, happier, and more productive.

Yes, you heard that correctly, you can be more productive by reducing your stress levels - a process that often involves reduction of work hours! So, without further ado, let's jump right in and get those stress levels down!

Once you know what it is, it is important to identify stress factors in your life so you can avoid them and lead a stress- and worry-free life. Identifying the things in your daily life that cause you stress is not as simple as you might think. There is a thought process that's involved. Sometimes we can be stressed and not realize it until afterwards when we are feeling depressed and angry.

There are many ways to de-stress. Part of that is knowing what stresses you on a daily basis. There are many factors that happen to your body when you over stress yourself, and you can develop a number of illnesses. Your body can only handle so much stress before it starts to break down.

Good book but not great narrative

The book is pretty solid, the narrator is tough to listen to. Definitely listen to the sample copy. I did listen to it all the way through.
