Great stories.... the narrator not so much

The stories are all amazing classics. Solid, spooky stories. The narrator, Cathy Dobson has such a strange meter to her voice, and odd emphasis on random words, it nearly made this unlistenable

Monotonous background and occasional story

I enjoyed it, but collected stories weren't great. Not scary, suspenseful. Classic authors, mediocre stories. Overall it was OK if you wanted to listen to something on a long drive. It's not bad in the sense you'd go to sleep while driving, but if you were looking for a scary book, I'd suggest Creepypasta podcasts. Narrator was something you'd hear from a Jane Austin novel, so pretty good. But it is as you'd expect from a. Collection of classical horror stories. (Wow, a detached hand in running amok. So scary... ) price of this is definitely due to the hours of reading. Probably would listen again if I had to fill another large gap of time.

Authors and Stories are fantastic, but the narrator kills it.

I'm sorry, but the narrator for this audiobook is just abysmal. I actually enjoy many of the author's whose works are showcased in this book, and was excited to see such a large collection all in one place. Unfortunately the narrator makes listening to the stories impossible. Inflection, intonation were just terrible, and it seems she narrates all of the stories included. This was a huge disappointment. Returned it shortly after purchase.
