About this listen

What if God wants you to wait?

Most of us know what it's like to wait for God to change our circumstances.

But whether we're waiting for physical healing, an emotional breakthrough, or better relationships, waiting is something we usually try to avoid. Why? Because waiting is painful and hard. The truth is it's also inevitable.

In Still Waiting, Ann Swindell explores the depths of why God wants us to wait by chronicling her own compelling story of waiting for healing from an incurable condition. She offers a vibrant retelling of the biblical account of the Bleeding Woman that parallels her story - and yours, too.

Let Ann help you see the promise that is hidden in the ache of waiting and the hope of what God can - and will - do as you wait on him.

Perhaps not what I was looking for

Struggled to finish it. Also gave it as a gift and the person gave up. she's definitely a good writer, however I could not relate to her topic. I picked up the book as a resource for patience while dealing with stage 4 colon cancer. my mistake.

A Beautiful Story of Courage and Hope

Ann Swindell's vulnerable story is heartfelt, courageous, real and hopeful. I'd encourage anyone sturggling with anything that requires waiting, beyond understanding, to read/listen to it.

Holy crap! Save your credit and money.

Rarely do I come across a book that I didn't like. And this is one of them. I'm hopeful the book can benefit someone else who suffers from a debilitating syndrome, whatever the degree. But every other word is me, mine, my, and I. In her first voice.

I know she's talking about her experiences with trichotillomania and the fear of being judged but it kind of gets overwhelming. Not in a self depreciating mode, because she boasts enough about her good Christian background and more than excellent confidence. It gets to be overwhelming because it's not engaging.

Ugh, and she keeps writing about how the woman who bled for 12 years like she was living modern day. As if she had health care, saw doctors, and then paid with it from her dowry? Using a parable from the Bible can't parallel modern day medical advances. Poorly written. And performance is okay?
