About this listen

Stone Barrington must trap a ruthless defector in this heart-stopping thriller from fan favorite Stuart Woods.

Stone Barrington is trying to enjoy some downtime at his English retreat, when he's unceremoniously sent off to the remote reaches of the UK and into a deadly snare. As it turns out, this is only the first volley by a rival power, one that has its eyes set on disrupting the peace of the nation. With the help of two brilliant and stunning women, Stone must leverage a new position of power to capture a villain with a lethal agenda. But the closer he comes to nabbing the culprit, the more he realizes there's a bigger plan at work, and a true mastermind who's a force to be reckoned with....

Abrupt ending

While I enjoyed this book for the most part, the ending was quite disappointing. It was very poorly developed and the end came abruptly.

Nearing the end

Since the passing of Mr. woods I have been listening to all his novels again. The Barrington books still hold my interest and I find the narration by Mr. Roberts to be a great match to the series. I am surprised that HIV was never addressed in any of the novels,m. With all the partners Stone acquired I would have have thought stone would have had a weekly standing appointment at a testing location…Mr. Woods had an opportunity to make a point and I am sorry that he missed it.

I want to say thank you to Mr.
Woods for the many hours of entertainment that I have had listening to his stories and for a job well done.

More of the same

While I always enjoy the Stone Barrington novels, and especially love Tony Roberts' reading, that Stone continues to be bestowed with more money, more houses, more promotions, and more "love" interests has almost reached the ridiculous. I read somewhere that Stuart Woods consciously writes about wealth, knowing that it's more fun to read about rich people than poor people, it does make Stone Barrington seem almost supernaturally lucky. Nothing seems to go wrong for him.

But again, it's still a fun read and great for the car.

Typical Stone sex romp

I am a real fan of the Stone Barrington series. Although I enjoyed this book, I felt that the story was a bit weaker than the normal ones that I have more thoroughly enjoyed

too manipulative and strange. there are few books I stop listening to, but the sexual and political, and not nice people I just no longer wanted to listen to i should have returned it!

Stealth

Probably my fault but I couldn’t grasp the story concept and why it took so long to get to the ending story.

Interesting as usual

Good as usual, but a little different than the normal. Will his new position take Stuart Woods writing a totally new direction? I hope not
