Featured Article: The Definitive Guide to the Canonical Star Wars Timeline

The Star Wars timeline is complicated. With a recently reestablished canon, a tendency toward nonlinear storytelling, and an ongoing creative surge of new films, television series, books, and comics expanding the already massive universe, it can be incredibly difficult for even the most dedicated among us to keep the Star Wars timeline straight. This unofficial timeline explainer offers a brief illumination of each period and the stories set within.

It's pal-puh-TEEN.

If you can get past the presence of Jar jar Binks and the narrator pronouncing Palpatine wrong every...single...time he says it, then you should thoroughly enjoy this title. Fills in some back story that was left on the cutting room floor.

Mostly more of the same, but some insights

Overall not much new here, to be expected. A few nice little insights, elaborations.

Mostly a nice nightime listening, a bedtime story trip to a Galaxy Far, Far Away. Always a good thing!

The only bad thing was that new Chapters/Sections were clipped at the beginning by half a sec or so. May not sound like a big deal but it adds up. An ..dme', ...akin, ...uscant, etc. can wind up being more than a little jarring.

[Specially when these are bedtime stories for me &, upon a *...ratist*, *...an Kenobi* or somesuch, my brain wants to snap back to attention to insert the missing syllable into the ol' databank!]

Better than the movie, but....

I loved the book. It’s a lot easier to get through than the movie. There are certain things that are even creepier between Anakin and Padmes flirting than in the movie. Anyway worth a listen to any Star Wars fan though

More than the movie

Like most books that have movies about them this one doesn't fail. It has so much more detail than the movie ever did or will be able to grasp. it will fill in the gasp from so many gray area in the movie. You wont regret getting this book and listening to it.

Pretty Good

I'm a 13 year old girl that doesn't know anything about Star Wars but wanted to know more about it so I picked up this book. The story was amazing and kept my interest the entire way though. It was a bit slow getting to the main point in the story but the overall book was good. This book gave me a greater understanding of what Star Wars is about and that it's more then just a science fiction novel. I hope my review helped.

Great Boom and Narrative by Terry Brooks

I loved how he had a voice for each character!! The biggest thing I really enjoyed about this book is the fact he added sound effects it just immersed me into the book even more just by adding just a little sounds here and there it made the book 100 times better!!!

Faithful Film Adaptation

While I am familiar with the story of the Phantom Menace, the novel did include enough details and additional scenes to make it interesting. Author Brooks did an admiral job describing the details. He even made the pod racing interesting, despite being my least favorite screen in the film. I read/listened to this book using immersion reading. The audio book did not feature either Marc Thompson or Jonathan Davis. It featured a new voice, Alexander Adams. Adams approached these from a more traditional, straight forward approach, reading the text and doing a few character voices. His Jar Jar was quite good and the narration was pleasant. Not much in the way of extra scenes, but the book does include a mini interview with the author and a great short story from James Luceno about Maul and a timeline of Star Wars books along with samples from books in different eras.
