Good story

Good story. At times it felt like it was dragging a bit. This is not Donna Grant best Dragon Kings book. There are better books with better storylines.

why did the narrator change how he pronounces Rhi?

Another great Dragon Kings book. e
Excellent story as with the others in the series and the narrator does a great job - except in this, the 9th book of the series he now pronounces Rhi completely different from his he did in the first 8 books and it's very annoying

Enjoying this series

Narration—ok, but I wanted to smack him. He pronounced “Rye” through all the other books and “Ree” this time, bout drove me nuts. I know how Fleetwood Mac pronounce it. Lol

Story was good. I’ve noticed I enjoy the back story more than the main character story. Lol

I have found very few times that I wasn’t fond of the lead female. Well KB was on my smack the sh$& outta her list. Boo hoo he didn’t tell you he was a dragon. Give me a break, even Batman didn’t tell everyone everything.

And....I’m freakin sick of Ry and her dragon lover. Get over it. Gah!! Tell me if I have guessed already.

Excellent series!!! Will listen to again in the future. Now....on with the story.

Name Pronunciation

This 100% is about Anthony Ferguson's pronunciation of names! For the love of all that is holy please pronounce Rhi's name the same in each book!!! It's been Rh-eye up until this book and all of a sudden it's Rh-ee! my ear are burning!

It’s Rhiiiii, not Rheee

What made the experience of listening to Smoke and Fire the most enjoyable?

The story is fine....predictable but fine. The narration was also fine. But why did Ferguson change the pronunciation of Rhys name? He has narrated the 8 books before this one...HE introduced us to Rhy. Even if someone came along and said ‘Hey, actually it’s pronounced differently’....it’s too late! You’re 9 books into the series....you cannot change it now. So, of course, that distracted me from the story a bit.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rhy is always my favorite.

Any additional comments?

As much as I have enjoyed the series, I do hope we get to the end soon. Or at least move the story further by answering some of the long drawn out questions. Who is Rhys’ King? Why did he leave her? What is the weapon? Etc.

l Love the series but......

Love the Dark Kings series. I am hooked and can't wait for the next book. However we are too far in the series for the narrator to change the pronunciation of names. Also the suspense of who Rhi's dragon king is has dragged on for two long. But it was still a good book.

Proof two computer geeks... can scorch the page

This book was originally read as a part of the Audible Escape package, then later purchased as a Kindle eBook to read at my own leisure. Smoke and Fire #9 in the Dark King series; which is a part of the greater Dark World. Characters from previous books appear and longer subplots are formed and beginning to build.

Kinsey is a computer hacker that is trying to get over, fellow hacker Ryder. What she doesn’t know he didn’t know the spell that kept him from falling in love was broken… now he must preform the most masterful hack yet. Breaking back into Kinsey’s her.

As with all Donna Grant books in the Dark World series once you get in… it is hard to get out.

Narrator should know how to pronounce the characters names

Overall it was a good book in the series. The narrator in this series didn’t take the time to pronounce the characters names correctly he could’ve just listened to a previous book and the pronunciation is correct overall disappointed
