Short but Sweet!

If you could sum up Sister Raven in three words, what would they be?

Love Conquers All.

What about Danielle Daly’s performance did you like?

She did a good job. She sounded like a Native American. She had presence.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the whole book. I am so glad to find a book on which ravens aren't a bad omen. I have Raven on my totem, so I have respect for this story.

Totally swept me away

I don't even know where to start with this story, other than to say I wish it were longer!

It's a fantasy story with a Native American feel. Not just the environment, but the storytelling. I don't even know where to start with reviewing this book -- it's so magical, a little dark, a lot hopeful, and love wins in the end. Magic, shapeshifters, curses, blessings...just go read it and then YOU try to describe it! :)

Danielle Daly has the perfect voice for this story. I hope to find other stories she's narrated!

It stays with you after

Disclaimer: This audiobook was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. When I first picked up this book, I was not expecting such a journey. It's a beautiful story, and one I enjoyed greatly. Even after finishing the book, I still think about it and will definitely listen to it again. Narration by Danielle Daly is quite a journey. Initially, I found the crow song awkward sounding, but it was the sounds that grew on me and they stayed with me long after I have completed the book.

Good relaxing reading.

Any additional comments?

Reading “Sister Raven”, a tale of simpler, mystical times, a girl's awakening to her own magical powers and her family's secret, is like walking from a thick forest into a clear, pastoral setting. Karen Levine's simple, clean, honest, narrative soothes, cleanses and re-invigorates. Danielle Daly's complements Ms. Levine's work admirably with a talented, thoroughly professional reading. Kudos to both of these women for their good work. A good piece for those of us who yearn for a simpler times.

An Interesting Tale

I enjoyed this tale told in the style of First Nations traditional oral folk tales. It's full of magic, traditional spirit animals, vengeance and justice.
Well written, well read and very entertaining.
