Publisher's summary

It is summer 1895 and a lost play by William Shakespeare is discovered. While being authenticated by scholars in Oxford there is a break-in and the 300-year-old quarto is stolen. Holmes is engaged in the most unusual of circumstances and together with the faithful Dr. Watson, they are soon on a trail which takes them from the Epsom Derby to Epping Forest and the great city of Florence itself. But this is not the only case brought to 221B Baker Street during this eventful year. Any number of singular problems demand Holmes' attention including the terrifying schemes of an injured army captain, a spate of strychnine poisonings and a dancing bear suspected of murder in the East End. What bearing do these seemingly unrelated adventures have on the search for the lost play? Who is the woman haunting Dr. Watson and what is the mysterious Society of Lucius? With stilt walking chases, a swimming race across the River Thames and an explosion at the former site of Shakespeare's Globe, this is set to become Holmes' most dangerous and memorable adventure yet.

I liked it :D

I liked the main mystery and all the other little ones entangled in it. I loved Watson's voice and narrative. What I didn't like were the 'comical' moments. Sherlock Holmes entering the Thames in his undergarments and still smoking his pipe didn't seem funny to me but rather silly. But then, that's me :P

And I truly enjoyed the story itself, the Shakespearean references and having Mycroft doing some *gasp* leg-work *laughs*

And I loved Dominic Lopez' narration, although I'd have liked some post-production editing, as there are various mistakes (clearly marked by the narrator) that weren't edited out before sending the book out there.

All in all, a delightful Sherlock Holmes romp.

Bearly Escape

Doctor Watson and Sherlock Homes are involved in a chase to find an unknown Shakespeare play. Several stories in the book can be read alone, but in sequence they provide more fun for reader.

Too many errors!

Unfortunately, this performance (as in the Ruby Elefant) contains too many recording errors. It's a shame, I found the story itself quite entertaining. Who reviews the narrator's work?

NOT AT ALL SHERLOCKIAN

Narration just ok, to many characters, story is willy hilly and all over the place. Story seldom follows the original plot. Save your money or credit and pass on this one.
