About this listen
Fifteen years after the release of the first Mediator novel, number-one New York Times best-selling author Meg Cabot returns with a deliciously sexy new entry to a fan-favorite series. Suze Simon - all grown up and engaged to her once-ghostly soul mate - faces a vengeful spirit and an old enemy bent on ending Suze's wedded bliss before it begins.
You can take the boy out of the darkness.
But you can't take the darkness out of the boy.
All Susannah Simon wants is to make a good impression at her first job since graduating from college (and since becoming engaged to Dr. Jesse de Silva).
But when she's hired as a guidance counselor at her alma mater, she stumbles across a decade-old murder, and soon ancient history isn't all that's coming back to haunt her. Old ghosts as well as new ones are coming out of the woodwork, some to test her, some to vex her, and it isn't only because she's a mediator gifted with second sight.
From a sophomore haunted by the murderous specter of a child to ghosts of a very different kind - including Paul Slater, Suze's ex, who shows up to make a bargain Suze is certain must have come from the devil himself - Suze isn't sure she'll make it through the semester, let alone to her wedding night.
Suze is used to striking first and asking questions later. But what happens when ghosts from her past - including one she found nearly impossible to resist - strike first?
What happens when old ghosts come back to haunt you?
If you're a mediator, you might have to kick a little ass.

Heather Wells rocks! Or, at least, she did. That was before she left the pop-idol life behind after she gained a dress size or two - and lost a boyfriend, a recording contract, and her life savings (when Mom took the money and ran off to Argentina). Now that the glamour and glory days of endless mall appearances are in the past, Heather's perfectly happy with her new size 12 shape (the average for the American woman!) and her new job as an assistant dorm director at one of New York's top colleges.

Lew-chee-ah VS Lew-see-ah
I loved this series as a teen. Nearly 15 years later it made me super sentimental and reminded me of becoming a working adult. The story was relevant and relatable to what I feel Suzanna & crew would be experiencing today. I appreciate the narrative, but the male voices are unbearable. Often the names or dialects to what the characters would have sounded like were off putting or over dramatic. I wish the producers would have paid more attention to details or things like that. Lol Jesse’s “accent” had me and my boyfriend rolling at times. My impression is pretty hilarious ;D

I've read the mediator books before; back when I was in middle school, and I recently discovered this book in my late 20s. This book made me feel like I was watching my best friend handle life. I'm hoping there will be more books.

Susannah Simon is all grown up...
I loved the first 6 Mediator novels, so I was excited for a new one in the series. Overall I really enjoyed the story and getting a "where are they now" type recap woven throughout.
I was a bit disappointed in the book, however, because it moves out of the realm of YA and into adult fiction instead. It has quite a bit of sexual overtones as well as adult language and themes that were not present in the first 6 books of the series. I'm not totally against that kind of content, but it just didn't fit with the rest of the series.
What I really disliked about the book though is how obsessed Susannah is with getting in Jesse's pants. She essentially makes fun of him and pressures him to put aside his beliefs because she doesn't share them. He tells her he wants to wait until they are married because he respects her and his faith, and she disrespects him by acting like his beliefs are silly and antiquated. Pressuring someone into doing something they've made very clear that they are not comfortable with is wrong regardless of whether you agree with their reasoning.

Great story as always
Love the Mediator books! Been reading them since they first came out. This is a great ending to an excellent series. Though, I did struggle with the narration. Wasn't at all how I imagined the characters. My suggestion is to listen to a clip before buying this audibook.

Thank you Meg Cabot!
First of all, I'd listen to anything read by Johanna Parker. She is an excellent narrator.
I love this series. I thought it was over and was pleasantly surprised to see two new ones in the series.
The original books were great but written for teens. So I was happy that the story picked up later in the characters adult lives. It was funny, sexy and kept my interest. The characters are great. I hope there are going to be more books from this series to come.

Overall great ending to a fun series!
I was so excited when I found out Meg Cabot had released another book in the mediator series. I really enjoyed the story itself and thought it was a great ending to the series. I read all the books through out high school and was obsessed with them! I had read this book over the summer and decided to go ahead and try the audiobook too.
While I really liked the other books that Johanna Parker narrated for this series I was a tad bit disappointed in this narration. The main character Suze Simon sounded a lot more whiney in this audiobook compared to the previous ones Johanna narrated. There were times where it made me not like her character as much as I used to and considered not finishing the story. But what really bothered me was how Johanna pronounced the name Lucia. She pronounced it so it sounded like Luchia instead of LU-SEA-A. Growing up in a latin community I NEVER heard the name pronounced with an H. Weird! Other than that I really enjoyed the conclusion to the series!

Suze Simon is all Grown Up!!!
I loved this book. I read the series as a child and recently decided to reread it. Finding out that there was new books made my month. This book has the same feel as the original Mediator books but Meg Cabot did a great job of aging her up just as her fans are. The story and plot were well written and I feel everything came together nicely. It is a wonderful read.
