About this listen

Rescued as a child by her grandpa, the powerful Vampire Malachi, Emma has been on the run for nearly 40 years from a Vamp determined to see them both dead. When he enlists the aid of assassins from the Vampire Council, their luck runs out. Forced to separate, Malachi sends Emma to a trusted VampLycan for protection.

Redson knows trouble when he sees it, and sure enough, the gorgeous, mostly human female seeking shelter immediately disrupts his future plans. His father swore a blood oath to her grandfather, and Red is honor bound to protect her. He’s surprised when his instincts demand so much more - protect...claim...mate.

Their attraction is explosive, but Emma refuses to consider mating while her grandfather is in danger. She needs Red’s help...but is he Malachi’s savior? Or his biggest threat yet?

Great Story, loved it!

This was book 10 out of the 10-book series. I am actually hoping that Laurann writes more books in this series to highlight some of the other characters. I have to say, this series has become one of my favorite shifter series, and believe me, I listen to quite a bit!

I read each book 1 thru 10 in order and I have to say, each story was so creative and different and I really did love them all. I can't actually say I had a favorite, but if I had to pick I would pick Drantos and/or Kraven due to more listening time. Book one started with 13 hours of listening time, and book two dropped down to 12 hours and it just kept going down from there with book 10 only having 6 hours of listening time! I mean C-mon, Laurann!

Savannah Richards continues to be one of my favorite narrators and she does an absolute STELLAR job giving every character a voice that totally fits their demeanor and personality.

Redson (Red) and Emma story was adorable, I just loved it! However, it needed to be longer as I felt once again Laurann just rushed through the ending without giving us updates on any of the other characters in the story.

I also have to say, the two hero's in this series was Aveoth and Veldor, I absolutely fell in love with these two men/shifter and I hope to hear more about them in future books of Laurann's.

In conclusion, this is a series that is worth investing in, you will not be sorry! I come to love Laurann's writing and will be listening to more of her books.

Great series

I loved these stories. Characters are great, women were strong. Loved each of them, this is one of my favorites and will definitely be a re-read. Savannah Richards is a excellent narrator. Her male voices are fantastic. I love listening to the books she narrates. She puts such emotions in them and makes the story all the better. I really was hoping for more, but then NSO series i thought their were other characters that should have had their story too. Oh well, can't have everything. Love all of L.D. Books.

Very romantic story. Love grandpa because he taught his granddaughter how to defend herself. Good story lines and nice plot.

Slightly disappointed

When the heroine’s mother said she was the chosen one, I was expecting an unusual power but was disappointed when they were just like the regular characters of the story.

Grandpa Vamp!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💚
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😠☺️😋😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Emma - 36 years ago Emma and her mother were attacked by vampires from her grandfather's nest, who killed all the humans in their neighborhood possibly including her VampLycan mother. Emma’s Vampire grandfather Malachi saved her, and they have been on the run ever since.

The Hero: Redson - he is a VampLycan (result of a mating between a Vampire and a Lycan). He lives in Howl, Alaska with one of the three VampLycan clans. His father was friends with Malachi and owed him a blood oath, though his father is now dead and Redson got his debts including the blood oath.

The Story: In the present time, Emma lives with her grandfather who is over 400 years old but looks like he is in his mid to late 20’s. People think they are siblings. When their enemies sent by the vampire council close in, Malachi has Emma pose as his blood slave until she can escape. She has to take off on her own planning to meet her grandfather later. Her grandfather has a VampLycan friend in Alaska that whom he told her to find.

Like the rest of the books in this series, this one has a strong female heroine. Emma was raised by a master vampire, so is used to the supernatural world. I liked the fact that Emma had some VampLycan traits from her mother. She was 40 years old and looked 20, she has healing abilities and is stronger, with better eyesight than most humans. They fall for each other pretty quickly and this gets steamy pretty early in the book.

This book is told in multiple points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Savannah Richards. She has a great voice and has done a fantastic job on this series. I haven’t even minded the fact that it was done in solo narration. She is terrific at doing multiple male and female voices, so it sounds like a full cast audiobook.

Good addition to series

This was a good addition to the series. I feel the series is getting a little repetitive. Emma is another strong female mate for the vamp-lycan Redson. The mostly human granddaughter raised by a vampire was interesting and well written. This relationship advanced the vampire council issue a little. And hearing from characters from the first two books was nice. Good narrator too.

Redson

It was nice to have new and old characters brought back into the story. I’d love to hear more about Veldor
