Publisher's summary

Rog Phillips' Rat in the Skull and Other SF Classics is a giant helping of classic Golden Age science fiction. The main ingredient is Phillips' science fiction masterpiece Rat in the Skull (unavailable for nearly 50 years). What the If magazine's editors said then about this controversial Hugo nominee novelette remains true today: "Some people will be shocked by this story. Others will be deeply moved. Everyone who reads it will be talking about it. Read the first four

Other Phillips' novelettes gathered in this audiobook are: The Yellow Pill, Executioner No. 43, Unto the Nth Generation, Pariah, Love Me, Love My -, and The Holes in My Head. This is a must-listen for those who love science fiction.

50’s finest tales revisited

I’ll admit I am a sucker for anything from the med 1900s, I don’t care if it’s music, movies, radio shows, or books, be they pulp or standard sci-fi fantasy stuff. For me the 1940s 50s and very early 60s or some of the most creative times in our culture.

I love going back and finding gems like this to take me to the time that I just missed out on. the stores here are exactly what you should expect, pioneering tales of some of the best original in creative science fiction as the genre emerged as a legitimate and full-fledged concept unto itself.

If you were anything like me, then this is exactly what you have been looking for. It’s fun and nostalgic all the same time. The narration is great and gives you that feel from that time frame.

Fantastic sci-fi

The stories compiled in this book are all really great short stories. Adrian M. Lopez as narrator was a great choice his tone and mannerisms really being each character to life in impressive ways. the stories themselves were a great mix of tragedy and comedies made for a really fun time. only complaint i wish there was more.

Wonderful, if disturbing Sci fi stories

Rat in the Skull & Other SF Classics by Rog Phillips did not disappoint! In fact, I can’t get the rat out if my skull! Wonderful stories, thoughtful and very engaging. The narration by Adrian M Lopez was great and characters and stories came to life. I received a free copy of the audiobook for my honest review.

Entertaining and Disturbing

The stories are entertaining but yet a little disturbing. I will admit some stories are better than others. The narration is amazing. I received this book upon my request. This is my honest and unbiased review that I am voluntarily leaving here.

Enjoyable 50's Sci-Fi

These stories kept me engaged throughout, I liked the main characters and there development and the mysteries that ran through the stories were also interesting and well developed storylines. The narrator Adrian M. Lopez was also excellent. Would definitely listen to more by the writer.

Creative and entertaining

This science fiction short story collection had excellent narration. These creative and unusual stories were entertaining, though in several instances somewhat disturbing. Well worth the listen.
