About this listen

No matter how hard I try, I can never drown the memories.

I miss alcohol. The craving claws against my stomach every day. And being in this rehab center doesn’t help. No one understands how it feels to not be able to save someone you love. I had to watch Macy’s demise. How she screamed for me to help her. I hear those screams. They echo in my head. A song on repeat.

And a patient here, Sunnie, she tries to make me feel better. She reads a damn book to me every chance she gets, and it grinds my nerves. Who the hell is that happy? She makes me want to drink.

Then, she shares her pain, and I realize her bright disposition is a mask. I find myself wanting to make her smile, to make her happiness permanent. Nothing is ever that easy. She and I have a common enemy. My nightmare has been released from prison. Her nightmare is the reason why he is free. I want to be done with the MC after they made me go to rehab.

But Sunnie deserves retribution. Macy deserves to finally rest in peace.

Raw and gritty

Although I am familiar with narrator Tor Thom, both the author K.L . Savage and narrator Rachel Fuginiti are new to me.
Pirate was a powerful, raw and gritty story that drew me in and kept me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter. Please be advised that there are some parts of this story that may be a trigger for some, so you have been warned.
From the prologue the pain that Pirate is in is palpable and there were times throughout this story as I listened that moved me to tears. I gave up counting the times that my heart almost broke for Pirate and all that he has endured, his pain and suffering could be felt throughout and Tor Thom certainly brought that to his narration.
There were so many twists and turns that I felt as though I was on tender hooks but I had to keep listening as I needed to know what happened next. After being forced into rehab by his MC brothers, Pirate meets Sunnie, a woman who is also fighting her own demons. Even though dating between patients is frowned upon, for Pirate and Sunnie,, they are exactly what one another needs.
This is a powerful story of determination, of overcoming the horrors of ones past and learning to live and love again and the narrators both did justice to the characters with their performances.

Fantastic story!!

This story has heart! This story starts off with a horrific act by a very sick Predator. This story made me believe in over coming a very traumatic childhood. This is an extremely well written storyline. I definitely can’t wait for more stories by this author.
The narrator’s do a fabulous job with the characters and voices of each character making it easy to distinguish between the characters. Tor Thom is one of my favorite narrator’s! I listening to his sexy voice portraying the characters. Rachel Fuginiti is a new narrator to me and she does an amazing job. I will have to keep an ear out for her narration.
I definitely recommend this audiobook it’s a fabulous listen!

Wow!!!!

Pirate by K.L. Savage is so much more than pain, suffering, abuse and addiction. The author wrote a powerful book that touches on several rough subjects. There are some wounded characters that learn to overcome their past and obstacles. Some purely evil characters are also in the book. Without giving away spoilers, I loved how Pirate and Sunny had hope in the book. Tor Thom and Rachel Fuginiti both were impressive with their performance. Each added the right emotions that added to the book. They really delivered the gut wrenching feelings that became the characters. I also loved the twists and turns and thought the ending was perfect.

Amazing Book

I have to say after reading this book and then listening to this book that the narrators brought K.L. Savage's characters to life. Loved. Loved. Loved. Wow, this was one book I had to process before I could put words down on how it affected me. Such a strong story that really left me a little broken. Pirate and the guilt he faces for the loss of Macy drives him to make his club make a decision that hurts him more. Then he meets Sunnie and her story just shows that two people so broken can find something more. Then the story twists and turns in a way that left me gasping. I love this book, this author and these characters so much. I cannot wait for more from this author but I may need a moment to catch my breath. AMAZING STORY!!!! Wish I could give it more than five stars. K.L. Savage you have rocked my world yet again.

blown away!

Pirate tweaked my curiosity from the former books in this series. To say his back story ripped my heart to shreds would be an understatement. Sunny was his godsend. The circumstances surrounding their meeting hit my emotions on a deep level. They were exactly what the other needed. Add in the other brothers in the MC having their backs when evil was determined to undermine their blossoming reality to live and this becomes a phenomenal addition to this series.
