Publisher's summary

Claire Barclay, owner of a mystery book tour company, collects three women at the Manchester airport who have flown in from Tucson, Arizona, then starts on a tour of Yorkshire and the sites of mystery novels. She meets the rest of the tour in York: two British couples and Phillip, a single man.

Claire has scheduled stops at sites of interest, starting with the York Chocolate Factory. Here, in pursuit of Phillip who will not stick with the tour, she finds the body of a security guard. She cannot see any connection with her tour and leaves York, driving the group up on the moors and stopping at the famous Ralph's Cross where moorland stretches for miles. Here, her American ladies report the sudden death of Phillip in the surrounding bog.

Detective Inspector Mark Evans, a friend of Phillip's and Claire's significant other, investigates. Mark tells her Phillip worked for Scotland Yard and was on the trail of a drug distribution scheme. Claire is determined her Tucson ladies will not be dragged into the murder inquiry or any other police investigation, but they are determined they will. They are intelligent, expert mystery novel fans, and observant. They precipitate Claire and themselves into a confrontation with the murderer.

Exceptional narrator and beautifully visceral language

The narration justly brings forth the artfully crafted language, including the turn of a phrase and colloquial Welsh.

So comfortable

This was the third book in this series and I wish it would continue. All of the stories and characters are very interesting and relatable as well as the details of the sites and surrounding areas……

Best of the three so far

Each book in this series has improved on the last. It is great fun to follow the mystery book lovers tour group around interesting and well described villages, landscapes, and sites. A great bonus is all the books and authors that are suggested and discussed.

The two main protagonists have believable adult issues and conversations.

Affection is warmly expressed, but actual sex scenes happen “offstage”.

Very delightful details! I must say it made me long for a similar trip, without the added adventure of a murder!

Very descriptive of the lovely countryside, and all of characters were well developed the story was exciting and entertaining! Loved Gulliver ( her dog )and the mouthwatering descriptions of all of their snacks and meals.

Love My Murder Mystery Tour

I love that I really feel like I'm in traveling abroad while listening to these. The detail is fantastic, without being boring or overwhelming. I love the main character; she is admirable, mature, but human and not perfect. Just as well done as the others. I hope there is more.
