Educational but not a good study guide

I’ll start by saying I did pass the exam.

I listened to this book 3 times. I felt very confident I knew everything that was covered and scored 90% in the practice test.

I felt like I knew pharmacy much better and I did learn a lot from this book. If you just want to learn about pharmacy I recommend.

If you want to get your PTCB this is NOT the right book for you.

When I took the real test - it focused HEAVILY on knowing the brand names for drugs, which this study guide did NOT cover. It also focused HEAVILY on reading sig code, which this guide covered briefly. I’d estimate 30% of the questions the PTCB provided a written order and asked you to review - this study guide provided 0 written orders. This study guide often had easy questions in the review, or an option for all of the above or none of the above - each chapter had a question or more that Was a gimme - I feel 90% of the public would get right. The PTCB had no gimmes and not once was there an all of the above or none of the above option.

I learned a lot from this book. But this book did not set real expectations for taking the PTCB and definitely omitted a lot of material. The level of difficulty in the real PTCB test is significantly harder then the practice exam here.

Not useful for people that need to listen

If I want a book, I will buy a book. I purchase audio content for the times I can’t read, so it is completely unhelpful to call this an “audio learn” program then tell me I have to refer to the pdf.

My main complaint is the drug classes in chapter 3

So she says class 6 is the drugs that have no medical use, but then says that the majority of the medicines they list they say is class 6. So this medicine for osteoporosis has no medical use? Like what?
