Publisher's summary

Rowan

My whole life, I’ve been taught to despise shifters. So when I’m hired to track two escaped convicts, I’m suddenly thrust into the world I hate - or thought I did. Yet I’m inexplicably drawn to the alpha of the pack, whose land the convicts may be hiding on. He’s different than any shifter I've ever met - laidback and quick to laugh, caring, and protective, and makes me feel complete for the first time in my life. As secrets are revealed, I start to wonder if everything I’ve been raised to believe was a lie, though it may not matter, because it seems like someone wants us dead.

Quinn

I’m no stranger to prejudice from humans, but it’s different when Rowan comes into my life. Though I shouldn’t let myself be distracted, I’m captivated by him. At first, he’s stiff, fighting to keep his misconstrued beliefs intact, but as I break down the wall he’s created, I’m able to show him a place among the fun chaos of my pack. After one of my pack goes missing, it leaves Rowan and me racing to bring them home. The only way we’re going to survive this is if Rowan learns to accept the bond that’s growing between us - a bond that could give us the strength to put aside our reservations and give in to what both of us want.

Of Secrets and Wolves is an action-filled romance with a dash of comedy. It’s the first book in a series with a continuing storyline and an HFN.

angst

Hard Headed people making a thoughtful leaders job hard. Is this story easy going no but I think it's on purpose. Shifter stories have to make u feel for their restrictions.

Why?Who?What?

Why is Quinn’s pack being hunted? Who’s behind all the attacks? What is their final goal? Quinn and Rowan are fun to watch (listen) as they fight the villains and their bond.

I really loved this one! Alice made me laugh my butt off several times with the banter between Rowan and Quinn. Greg does an amazing job as always and I can't wait to get into book 2!!

Must read!!

Love the pairing, the humor (I laughed so much!!) the plot, the sexiness!! The characters in this are just amazing! I want to have Ari in my life, he's so evil and adorable! Quinn and Rowan just absolutely spark and the courtship is cute, hilarious, dangerous, and magnetic. Rowan is a ridiculously smitten kitten!

Exciting story and the monsters are magnificent

I loved the storyline and the best part to me was when they found the age of Nathan and she helped them to escape.

I was not dissatisfied

Alice Winters has a very distinct writing style that's adult but written like a ya novel. it's nice for those of us who can't read "adult books" because they're boring but are too old for ya books. The feels very quintessential Winters. I listened to her medium trouble series before checking this out and her characters hit a lot of the same beats across this and the other two books.
The narrator was engaging and made it easy to distinguish between our two main characters.
The plot kept me interested the entire time and when I thought I knew what was happening, something different happened (though that could just be me not paying super close attention). The action scenes weren't my favorite but I'm known to glaze over during those kinds of moments regardless of the medium.
over all, it was a pretty solid book with good main characters, a nice romance, and an interesting mystery (though it wasn't super mysterious). if you like Winters other books or simply want something fun and easy to listen to, give this a try. i have a feeling you won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed the ride

This book had a different feel from other Alice Winters books I’ve read. Less snark, more action. I’m not normally into shifter stories, but I enjoyed the drama, the world building, the emotion, and the pretty much nonstop action here. Also loved Greg B, as always.

Enjoyed It a Lot

This was such an entertaining story with equal amount of angst and humor that kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time and then burst out laughing. I liked the paranormal world author created where interactions between humans and shifters were an important part of the story. Narrator did an amazing job with voices and the story, he made this interesting book a perfect listening experience. I am looking forward to the sequel.
