About this listen

Just over 150 years ago, in Berlin, New York, 25-year-old Marietta Davis suddenly fell into an unconscious state, from which neither family nor physician could arouse her. When she finally regained consciousness, she described with almost supernatural perception how angels had escorted her spirit to Heaven and Hell.

Her vision made her the talk of the community and a legend for generations to come.

Nine Days in Heaven brings the story of Marietta Davis to a new generation. The 19th-century language of the original has been updated for easier understanding, but the detailed portrayal of her vision remains intact.

  • Journey with Marietta to the shimmering reaches of paradise, where the redeemed enjoy the beauties of the new creation.
  • Observe children who died on earth as they are taught the mysteries of God in infants' Heaven.
  • Grieve at the plight of the lost as they suffer the wages of sin.

Supported by biblical references and practical observations, Nine Days in Heaven is more than the fanciful creation of a young woman's imagination. It is a travel guide to the life to come.

Uplifting, pulls on your heartstrings

I have read many nde accounts. This is the best. Sound doctrine, well referenced Ann’s beautifully transcribed. I feel sorry for those who scorned this account. The narrator compliments the account in a comforting manner. I will be ordering the hardback version for my library and be getting a permanent copy of the audiobook.

Different from modern NDE Accounts, in a good way.

This is a wonderful, heartfelt reading of a 25 year old woman's story of slipping into a coma for 9 Days, and what she saw and experienced.
This experience reaches across religious boundaries and tells a marvelous story that not only supports the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but adds details and insight that you probably have never heard before.
This transliteration/modern edition is a wonderful work.
The original account was written in a poetic prose, similar to how the King James Bible reads, or a sonnet.
I am reading the original account now, and there are definitely some antiquated words and phrases that we no longer use, that are tricky to get through.

It's so powerful and wonderful. It squares with scripture, and is worth both listening to and reading, and will leave you uplifted and encouraged.

In fact, I have already re-listened to it once, and am going to probably listen to it again.

Mind Blowing - Our Lord Jesus and Heaven are more Amazing than Ever Known!

This book’s depth of insight, by Marietta Davis’ NDE, about the way Heaven operates is a joy. The even more outstanding areas are about Jesus’ death and resurrection. It takes our current understanding and opens our eyes to why Jesus died and took punishment that was beyond what we previously considered. The entire demon world, along with its leader Epyllion and Death, gathered and took part in Jesus’ torture and death, to their delight. The depth of their goals to see the Man God suffer and die, so that all mankind would be subjugated to the dark underworld, brought a whole new appreciation of how Amazing our Hero and Savior Jesus the Christ is.
Jesus goes to the underworld upon His death to free those who have died and frees them. In his final victory, Jesus breaks the gates of Hell and rises from His tomb to complete His mission to save mankind, conquer sin, and bring His light into the world. We will never look at Jesus and what He did the same. You will be changed.
Other thoughts: I’m not sure how much the writers may have taken Marietta’s recount of her 9 day journey to Heaven, and extrapolated it using the many Bible verses that support this incredible detailed journey through Heaven and time. In any case, they did a great job. To help the flow, the writers took four early chapters, about babies who have died, and put at the end. Not a problem. It provides comfort to anyone who has lost a loved one, child (like me), or like many, a baby. The love, nurturing and development support these babies receive by Guardian Angels is heartwarming. There is a section in these final four chapters, that was thought provoking and a bit disturbing. It says some babies have sin and they have special treatment that only Jesus can make right. All good. But it makes one think how can these babies have sin, as this is not our current understanding of babies who have died. I’ll hold on sharing my further contemplations, and discussion with my wife.
Another aspect of the book to share, the Nine Days in Heaven recount is similar to The Chosen series in that the show takes all the stories we know and develops back stories of the events and characters to make the personal impact that is much greater.
Finally, I will listen to this book many times because of its goodness, inspiration and insights. Also because in listening, I can’t control the speed of wonderful information coming at me. Further the Bible passages referenced will be worth hitting pause to read what they say and contemplate. This first read/listen was to enjoy.

Awful-Don't Bother With It

Didn't finish it. The author should have left her thoughts to herself with this one.
