About this listen

Why would anyone think Jesus never existed? Isn't it perfectly reasonable to accept that he was a real first century figure? As it turns out: No.

Nailed sheds light on 10 beloved Christian myths, and, with evidence gathered from historians across the theological spectrum, shows how they point to a Jesus Christ created solely through allegorical alchemy of hope and imagination; a messiah transformed from a purely literary, theological construct into the familiar figure of Jesus - in short, a purely mythic Christ.

Enlightenment!!!

Love this book as it's an absolute must for all people who have interaction with Christianity. The truths expressed in this book about Jesus not actually existing is very accurate and I'm impressed at the complete unraveling of the myth of Jesus.

Great for Door Bashers

NOT recommended for use with family and friends.

This is great for making those door bashers squirm under the huge weight of evidence against the existence of even an historical Jesus.

Be sure to create a copious amount of well named and categorized bookmarks.

Still Researching

Still flipping through different historical texts from multiple sources and the bible itself to track down some of his comparisons and quotes but overall very enlightening and enjoyable. The book manages to stay mostly unbiased.

Awesome book with lots of knowledge & info!

I would recommend this book to anyone who is questioning the validity of an historic Jesus, anyone who is trying to combat this questioners, & anyone who already doesn't believe. It is chock full of information as well as all of the source material. It was great!! I'll be listening to this frequently to brush up on my knowledge! Great job Mr Fitzgerald!

On a side note: there are quite a few spots where the editors didn't cut off in the right spots, so you have some repeating go on, but it's easy to overlook.

Superb book

Cleared lot of misconceptions. Also got an idea of myth making and early signs of appropriation which Christian religion is famous for. Look forward to other books. It must be read by all believers and non-believers alike.

Impactful ending.

The book's "Conclusion" objectively and wonderfully helps sum it all up leaving one with a perspective they may have been lacking.

An interesting discussion on the subject

Fitzgerald presents an interesting surface view of the evidence. It’s an interesting case he presents and is worth further review and discussion. He isn’t a full scholar on the subject but is someone interested in the subject and does a good job discussing it from that point of view. I recommend Richard Carrier if you enjoy this series.

Well done.

I now have more information to debate with others about and even more reasons to be a skeptic. I enjoyed this book.

mythicism at its best.

Second time listening to this audiobook, so much information I ended up purchasing the hardback book so I can highlight and take margin notes. Enlightening!
