Medicine, Mysteries, Drugs, & sightings haunt you

Scarlato is an amazing narrator. I think I start out every review of his novels that way. I just love to hear him work his vocal magic. He is very talented and gifted when it comes to voice work. His ability to orate, however, does not overshadow his skill as a writer. In fact, I would say that he has just as much power in his imagination as he does in his voice. The man can write powerful and moving stories. Check out Pickpocket Frankie, The Book that Doesn't Exist, Reviled, or Fall Where They May to see just how good he is after you have finished this book. He is versatile, verbose, and can pack in a lot of power into his stories. He is a total storyteller. If we were still in the stone age, Scarlato would be at the head of the fire regalng us all with his tales each night.

I would say that this book is far afield of what he usually writes, but if you look at the list of titles I just touted you will see that he doesn't hold to any one paticular genre. He just writes incredible pieces of fiction that will captivate your attention. Dr Derek Schillar is the kind of doctor you would want taking care of you, he is attentive, caring, and wants more than anything to help, but no matter how good a person you are bad things can happen, and soon he is just a "ghost" of his former self. I don't want to spoil anything other than to say that the setting (a hospital) is enough to creep most people out. The things that happen will intrigue and disturb you, but you will not want to put this book down. I actually got irritated when I had to answer the phone, or shut the story off. Scarlato knows how to draw you in, and then hold your attention until it is all over. I respect that as a listener.

As disappointing it is to not have Roberto read his own material I have to say that I was very pleased with Robbin's work. He oozed empathy as the young boy, and filled Schillar's characte with so much gravitas that you couldn't help but feel for him. He paces the story, and hammers home the emotional scenes. I have never really heard him before, but I appreciate his skill. I enjoyed him a great deal.

If this is your first introduction to Scarlato's work you will not be disappointed. If you are familiar, then you know what to expect from him. Do not miss out on a chance to get a great story that will occupy your attention until it ends. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Mysterious

This is a good story of mystery and intrigue.and paranormal. It started a little slow for me but really held my interest later. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it especially if you like your plots out of the norm. Narration was was good as well.

Mr Dead eyes

This was an ok book.The writing seemed over the top at times.The story was interesting enough.Michael Robbins was a good narrator.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.

Good Story!

I received this audio book for free in exchange for my honest review. Other than a few unnecessary insertions of religion and only a couple of narration mistakes that the editor missed, this was an enjoyable story.

Dead Eyes

Mr Dead Eyes is around the story of Dr Derek Schillar, a medical doctor. A perfect wife June and his two small girls much to the envy of his friend Kurt Austin who has his own secrets and agendas. Henry Stolley, a man living on his own is found murdered in Canada, how is Derek connected to this when Henry Stolley was in Canada and Dr Derek Scillar was on duty in America?

Very Intriguing!!

This was a very good paranormal mystery. It was kinda creepy but at the same time very fascinating. Im expecting another book to to follow and I can’t wait to listen/read. If you are into paranormals and/or mysteries then I would recommend this book. Narration was very good!

Intreaging story

This book was provided free of charge in exchange for a review.

This book was hard to define. It was part murder mystery, part religious, part medical thriller and a preamble to a possible zombie apocalypse. But even with that it was a most enjoyable listen.

The story begins with the description of a brutal murder with no explanation of why. It is not until much later in the story where this murder is linked with the main characters.

The book revolves around two doctors and their lives, strengths and weaknesses.

One has a desire to help and a load of guilt for not being able to save everyone. The other has rampant ambition and will do anything to escape his current situation and succeed.

The story line is well put together and you never know where it is going to end up. There are many hints that have you believe one thing has happened only to find out your assumption was wrong. This was so well done it was surprising.

The narration was also very good and understandable with emphasis on the multiple voices and the emotional emphasis was great.

This was a good read but not a light read.

Dark, Fast Moving and Enthralling!

The plot is otherworldly fabulous, featuring twists upon turns, action, suspense, intrigue, betrayal, and for some, redemption! I loved that the medical-science details were explained and incorporated so naturally into the story! I was able to just sit, listen, and enjoy, throughly comprehending, and feeling totally in the moment throughout! The characters are well varied, fully developed and among them, some of the best “oh, did I CHEER when THEY got theirs” nefarious souls I’ve encountered in a while! No spoilers, you’ll know them when you get to them! This magnificent listen was brought to life by first class, clear and beautifully emotive narration. I truly enjoyed every minute of this one! Five fabulous stars!

Action-Packed

This book has murder, deception, betrayal and supernatural. Greed and jealousy results in a surgeon getting killed, but somehow dwells in the realm of the living and dead. He proceeds to uncover the whys and how's of his demise. Michael Robbins narrated this fast paced and unique book.

"Once evil, always evil."

Henry, a doctor on vocation in his e pensive and reprogrammed home in Canada is brutally murdered. Back in Roseville Hospital, two other doctors, Derek and Kurt, were at work. But one of them hated his job and had plans to get away.
Apart from the editorial glitch which repeats the opening chapter, the beginning is instantly envolving, captivating and promises much for the future - a promise which is sadly unforthcoming. Instead, the story revolves after a couple of hours into an increasingly unbelievable and poorly written tale of jealousy, paranoia, and paranormal silly shenanigans. More yucky horror in the morgue than medical mystery, the star rating comes mainly from the good narration performed by Michael Robbins.

I'm sure there are readers who would enjoy this book, but it was most definitely not for me. A pity, as the author showed in the opening sequences that he had a power with words. Probably, there will be a sequel. I won't be reading it.
