Publisher's summary

Tell me, little butterfly, what would you do for love?

In the wake of a crushing defeat, Tisaanah and Maxatarius have been ripped apart. Tisaanah is desperate to rescue Max from his imprisonment, even as her people's fight for freedom grows more treacherous. But within the walls of Ilyzath, Max's mind is a shadow of what it once was . . . leaving his past a mystery and his future at the mercy of Ara's new, ruthless queen.

Meanwhile, in the Fey lands, Aefe has been dragged back into this world by a king who vows to destroy civilizations in her name. But even as her past returns to claim her, her former self is a stranger.

Tisaanah, Max, and Aefe are thrust into the center of a cataclysm between the human and Fey worlds. The unique magic they share is key to either winning the war, or ending it.

But that power demands sacrifice. Tisaanah may be forced to choose between love and duty. Max cannot forge his future without confronting his past. And Aefe must decide between reclaiming who she was, or embracing who she has become.

The choices they make will either reshape this world forever . . . or end it.

Contains mature themes.

This is one of the most incredible books I have ever read

This entire series was great- but this last book is a true gem. There were no villains, only people and their stories - all of which we are connected to. The characters and story are woven together so gracefully. I cried- yes cried, reading this book. Amazing. As good as “the name of the wind”

Amazing story, really good narration

This story SLAYS. Carissa Broadbent 100% knows how to write a captivating trilogy.

The narrators were really good, I just wish there was slightly more differentiation in the voices used for Tisannah and Aefe.

An incredible ending to the series!

Mother of Death and Dawn was probably my favorite book in The War of Lost Hearts book series. Carissa Broadbent really knows how to weave an amazing world of characters in her books. This book both broke my heart and healed it all in ~700 pages while bringing the story to the perfect conclusion. I can’t wait to check out more books by Carissa! I plan on immediately diving into The Serpent and the Wings of Night right now.

Also, the audiobook narrators for this book series did an INCREDIBLE job bringing all the characters to life in each book!

Great story & narrators, but I slow it down

I love this author, series, book, and narrators, but geez I cannot listen at full speed! Even (or maybe especially?) with my ADHD, whether with or without adderall 😅. I listen on .8x or if i’m multitasking, often .7x speed. Not an issue because Audible makes it easy to change speed, but I feel like they must have sped up the narration in post-production. Just wanted to share for anyone else who thinks the audio is too quick!

Amazing

This series was so good I couldn’t stop listening. The readers gave me chills with how good they read. I recommend this series if you are a fan of ACOTAR or TOG.

So good!

The ending is perfect! It wraps up so nicely. I love a happy ending after so much fighting and torture.
