Great advice for parents

She is so easy to relate to. Love her humor. Wish I had this advice before my kids grew up!

I adore the author

Not only do I follow Gwenna on Tik Tok and Instagram, I have listened to her entire book. I loved every second of it because it felt so real and genuine on how to respond instead of react in situations, especially with children. I do not have children of my own, but I and an ABA specialist that works with kids constantly. I learned so much from my training, but this book told me how to teach these kiddos better ways of coping with their emotions. This book also taught me how I should regulate my own emotions. I would love nothing more for a part two on relationships or even a memoir to fully understand the progress and development of a person and their character.

Amazing

I loved listening to this book so much that I will be listening to it again. It's something you can listen to it over and over again and still love it. there were many words I didn't know what they meant and if I couldn't figure it out I'd google it so I not only learned about parenting I also learned a few new words. Thank you so much for such a good book! Also for all the laughs and jokes you had.

loved it

As a parent to still little kids, I found this to be very positive and helpful. And hearing the oldest daughter talk about her perspective in the beginning about made me cry thinking of my first born daughter. <3

Relaxed and funny

Absolutely loved it, most parenting books can be dry and seem like a college textbook, like I need to remember everything for the final and get me stressed. Gwennas laid back approach and millennial mom banter make it entertaining and relatable all while still being very informative. I definitely walked away with a few new tools and tricks for my kit! Thank you Gwenna (and Abby) for this gift ❤️

10/10 will recommend to everyone!

First off, Gwenna has a *perfect* voice for audiobook story telling. She didn't just read the words to us, her tone and inflection dragged me in, made me laugh, made me cry, and made me think harder about my parenting than I ever have.
In her Childproof podcast with Tori Phantom, she explained that this book is a "How I," not a "How To" and I LOVE that way of explaining it. In this book, she is not telling you that you HAVE to parent in her style, in fact, she consistently says that not everything will work for your family that works for hers. She gives tips and tricks, points us in the right direction, and gives us all the resources she can provide.
At the end, it feels like she sends us on our way like a baby bird leaving Mama Cusses bird nest lol, it's bittersweet.
I will likely listen to this 3 more times 😁

Relatable and true to who the author presents herself to be...

My husband and I do not currently have children of our own, but we are involved in the lives of our nieces and nephews. I have followed Gwenna on social media for years and was long awaiting this book release to help me to heal from my own reactive states due to being raised by reactive and often abusive parents.

This book has brought another piece of healing into my "parenting" style as well as broken down many ways to regulate both myself as well as the children who I am a part of influencing their growth into fully formed human beings. I will always be grateful for all the forms of media that "MommaCusses" chooses to put out to help people like me, but this one is probably the most influencial one yet for me in particular.

Healing and choosing to be responsive/gentle to children rather than reactive when that is all that has ever been modelled within my presence is one of the hardest things I have ever chosen to do. I am so greatly appreciative that this book has come out before I have "my first pancake" to help me learn prior to passing those same traumas onto my own children.

I very highly recommend this for anyone interested in healing their own reactive states, and becoming more responsive towards others in your life, even if you never plan to have children, but especially if you are in an influencial role (ie. parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent, ECT.) within a child's life and have no good role models to look back on for reference.

Gwenna herself has said many times, even in the first few chapters of this book, that it is never going to be too late to change your parenting style and heal from the hurt, it takes time and effort but is so worth doing. This is one small step in the right direction of bettering the influence you are within a child's life-but so worth the time and effort it takes to read and apply any and all concepts to your life as necessary and beneficial for your own family.

Thank you, Gwenna, for a wonderful book filled with relatable anecdotal references to the struggles of being reactive and raised by a reactive parent. This is a book I am going to read multiple times over, and annotate thoroughly as I break-down all of my own personal experiences and how to best apply each of the learned concepts throughout this novel.

I will Re listen. Loved!

There’s really nothing I dislike about this book. Please be aware she cusses, hints her name. It’s not a lot but she does drop the “$4 words” and I would roll my eyes so hard if I read a comment that said something to the effect of “didn’t like because she swears” or “too much cussing, so unnecessary”. 🙄If you’re faint of heart and would fall over at the sound of the F word, don’t read it. Leave it for the rest of us trying to support a real mom

impressively thought provoking and hilarious

not only does she give you outstanding, useful information you can literally start using right away, but she hands it to you on a silver platter of witty, charming, relatable, HILARIOUS experiences. absolutely impressed. I've read quite a few parenting books trying to get a hankering on this so called parenting lifestyle I'm trying to figure out still and not knowing how to explain what I'm trying for (my oldest is 21 and youngest 6) and this book hit the nail right on the head for every single aspect I was searching for. I can not thank you enough for writing this. and I'm so happy I found it! I will be listening to it a few times over!
