Warm, witchy fun!

I really enjoyed this paranormal women's fiction story. It has the sweet, small town setting of a traditional cozy mystery with a great paranormal twist. Love that the main character and her friends are all "grown folks" who are still capable of getting into wild, magical hijinks - even if they might need a nap afterwards. Really good chronic illness representation. The core friendships are really well drawn, and the mystery kept me guessing.

Delightful and Lighthearted

We start with a midlife woman, dearly loved by her husband and two best friends. Then suddenly she starts having strange things happening around her as well as her best friends. This is the start, then a wealthy business man comes corining down the road heading for the coffee shop and soap shop and the customers standing outside. Now tge fun begins. Narrator does a very good job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Midlife can be magical

It's nice to hear a story about a real woman with a really big family and real-life health issues, even if she does turn out to be a later bloomer as a witch! In fact, a lot of the magic of this story is about cooking, tea, friendship, a cozy home, sweet pets, and true love. The author reads this book, too, which I always like. I don't like falling asleep when I listen to audiobooks, and sometimes people with more polished radio voices just don't keep me awak.e

If you like it when authors read their own books, give this one a try. If you're ever been to Brown County, Indiana, I guarantee you will be looking at it a lot differently the next time you go. Watch out for black cats, witches, and Granny Moon!

Mysterious, witchy, cozy fall fun!

We hear about "beach reads" all the time, but I'd call this a "leaf read" for the way the story evokes the essence of fall in the Midwest. Missy is my favorite kind of sleuth; relatable and unwilling but capable. She has to see it through to the other side to clear herself and her witchy friends, as well as getting to the truth. There are layers to Missy, a middle-aged housewife, who also helps out at her friends shops, and who discovers that she's developing actual magical abilities. I love that her magic manifests not from a broom or cauldron, but from her purse, like a magic hat (and more).

The characters are loveable and believable, the setting is perfect, and the story is paced perfectly to make me feel like I'm along for the ride as one of the friends in Miss Fitz's circle. That feeling is enhanced by the author's warm and friendly voice as she reads her story.

I highly recommend this book for your next fall "leaf read"!

Fun and Entertaining

This was my first Red Tash's book. This is the first book in the Miss Fitz at Midlife Series, a Paranormal Women's Fiction Cozy Mystery. I liked Miss Fitz. The storyline is original, funny, and entertaining, filled with magic and mystery. This is a great small town paranormal cozy mystery. The book is narrated by the author. She did a good job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to more in the series.

not my cuppa

I'm not sure where to start, but arthritis at 40 sounds dreadful as well as mostly untrue or unusual at the least. I was expecting frivolity and fun, but I got a mystery that was mediocre at best. This seemed to ramble aimlessly at times. I won't be continuing this series. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. I wasn't impressed with the narration at all. Maybe let a professional do it next time. I felt like I veas being read a bedtime story.
