Publisher's summary

The second eldest in an ancient line of Russian dragon shifters, Mikhail Barinov had one job: protect one of the family hoard of jewels. Distracted by the English virgin queen Elizabeth, who was as dazzling as she was devious, he lost everything. Five centuries of exile later, news that a construction crew has unearthed a massive trove of gold and jewels sends him racing to London, determined to steal back his family's treasure...and his honor.

Professional gemologist Piper Linwood can't wait to bury herself in her newest project, evaluating a hoard of Elizabethan-era treasure. But both her life and career are threatened when a mysterious, brooding man with a dangerous smile - and an even more dangerous kiss - snatches the lot. Unwillingly swept along for the ride, Piper discovers Mikhail is no mere thief. And the dragon on his back is more than a tattoo. It's a living, breathing extension of a bad boy she's finding harder and harder to resist. But his heart is a treasure she can never own...because to save her career, she'll have to betray his trust.

Contains mature themes.

Second book in the series

I really like this series. The only downside is there is no edge of the seat thrills of chills. Not many sex scenes, but it is a good easy read/listen. I do love an alpha male who is sweet to his mate.

Fun and steamy

Fun, steamy and dragon shifters.
Mikhail has been exiled for the last five centuries, all because he lost the hoard of jewels that belonged to his family.
Now the jewels have been discovered after having been hidden by Queen Elizabeth all those centuries ago. When he travels to London to see the hoard on display he meets gemologist Piper.
He has no plans of letting the little human distract him as he had once been years ago. But she's swept into his plan to steal his hoard back.

Another amazing dragon shifter story!

This is the story of Mikhail, the second book in the Brothers of Ash and Fire Series. The plot was interesting and the storyline flowed smoothly through the whole audiobook. Lucy Rivers is an amazing narrator. I can't wait to hear more from her. Her voice is smooth and her accents are amazing! I love the characters and will be sad when I finish this series. The characters were well-developed and easily relatable. Mikhail and Piper are really good together and their chemistry is hot. It's just a unique enjoyable story. I can't wait to read book 3.

Good dragons prevail!

I love a happy ending. If a book has shifters involved, even better! Lauren Smith doesn't disappoint with the second book in the Royal Dragon Romance series. Lucy Rivers does a great job with the narration. Love those growly Russian voices!

Great book 2!

This second audiobook in this series was very entertaining. The story of a dragon shifter who was once in love with and betrayed by Queen Elizabeth in the 16th century. He has just gone through the motions until he sees on TV the dragons hoard of jewels he lost over 500 yrs ago. When he goes to see them, he meets a Gemologist who is in charge of cataloging the stones and realizes she’s his true mate. The narration was excellent.

Just Wonderful

So sad and so awesome, these dragons and their stories. When the author and the narrator are finished, with them and you, the whole thing is just wonderful !! Enjoyed this brother’s tale, too much actually. Once I start these books, I seem to get nothing else done until I finish!!

I'm starting to love Lauren Smith's writing style and these dragon shifters. Just the way how the story unfolds is an interesting read for a sweet spot quick audio. I'm so glad Rurik got added to the package because that is next up.
