About this listen

My fiancé is screaming at me in public.

I'm used to it. My role here is to look pretty on his arm and to play nice so he doesn't hurt my sick daughter.

What I'm not used to is the man who comes to my rescue. Adrik Tasarov is a tall glass of gorgeous. He's got a jawline that could cut glass and eyes that could melt steel. Best of all: my fiancé is absolutely terrified of him.

So when Adrik asks me to dance, I say yes. When he asks me to do a little more than that, I say it again. Then comes the make-or-break moment. Adrik offers me a fake marriage to get me out of my real one. I say the two little words that seal my fate: "I do."

Little did I know I was signing a deal with the devil. Now, I'm a prisoner in a beautiful mansion. I can have anything I want—except for my freedom.

I have an ace up my sleeve. Something my fake husband doesn't know about. Something that will change everything. His baby in my belly.

Midnight Oath is the first book in the Tasarov Bratva duet from bestselling mafia romantic suspense author Naomi West. Adrik and Emery's story carries on into book two, Midnight Lies.

Good story and narrator s

The female main character is a nut case. Her behavior is unstable and ugly. How could anybody be attracted to that? I don’t understand how he doesn’t just kick her out the door. It was hard to listen to.

Heads Up ! It's a 2 Part book Which is Not Listed .

The Story wasn't too bad but a lot of needless back and forth bickering between the the 2 main characters for me to get to the point.

There was some light hearted banter between Adrik, and his best friend.

There was actually 2 surprise turns I didn't see coming , but damn you hadda invest over 12 hours into the book to get to that point.

Adrik, was an ass most of the time, then he seemd Nice on a rare occasion. He was really nice to the 6 yr old Isabella the little Girl though Who was handicapped and is his fiance / Wife's Emery's daughter .

This was a free offer book , had I know it was a 2 parter and ends on a cliff hanger into another book, I would not have invested time in the story. There was nothing listed about that.

I don't think I will be following up with the 2nd book to see how the story ends., not because I would have to pay for it , that's not a problem, but the fact that the 2nd book is just as long as the 1st book.

It is another 13 hours and I just don't have it I me to
go though the same ol same ol to finally get to the point .

Also I am a character described listener .

I love to know exactly what the characters look like. Who I am picturing in the story .

The Description of these characters are

EMERY is a Blonde with green eyes
ADRIK has dark hair with Blue eyes.

In the Picture of the female model Who is supposedly EMERY on the second book cover it shows the woman with green eyes and BROWN hair .

She don't match the description unless she dyes her hair color In the 2nd book , which I'm not about to invest another 13 hours to find out.

The Narrators were great.

The story was actually really good too , It was just to much fluff, it took way too long to tell it.

Would I Recommend this book .
Well Now knowing what I just told you,

Depends on You ...

For Me it Was a one and done.

I wanted to like it.

I got half way through and couldn’t finish. The female lead character was so so ridiculous and annoying. The narrators were ok but definitely could have used a male narrator with a deeper voice with better ability to add depth/variance.

Wow!

While the FMC is super annoying (she did not need to be such a b!tch!!), the MMC did make progress during this book. Obviously this is a cliffy bc there’s a book 2. The narrators were good (although I wouldn’t say no to a different/better female narrator) and both had very good voices for each character. I do really like how Adrik really did so much for Isabella (Emory’s daughter) - I just can’t even with Emory’s behavior. The suspense and action rounds out the story and definitely leaves you hanging! Can’t wait for book 2!

Loved all the plot twists.

The plot twists just kept coming. It kept the book interesting. The main character could have been a little less whiny.

Again

Here we go with another story the female main character is in trouble and needs help gets help and doesn’t appreciate it. All she wants to do is argue over every minuscule point. I’m only a few chapters in and I just don’t think I can finish it. I want to slap some sense into the main character. She is just beyond difficult and it’s all supposed to be for her daughter whom she loves dearly.

idk

I struggled to finish this book.... I just think the mc was unnecessarily an a**hole sometimes... I wanted more substance from the MC perspective.... some might love it but I think it would be greater

Marriage

Words are not minced between the characters, promises are given and broken and life is hanging on threats.

Had to stop

The MMC and MFC were so unlikeable and fruastrating that I had to stop listening. The MMC was so repeative in the "I only do nice things to benefit me" and just alaways being mean. Like why even choose her as a fiance if you don't even somewhat like her. Then the MFC's behavior was all over the place. I understand that her daughter has a serious medical condition, but the "I want her to be independant" vs the "She can't do *blank*" was painful because most people would be figuring out solutions.

I stopped at the "it was only a joke" part were MFC was learning how to drive MMC's sports car and she got upset with MMC that she started driving to speeds up to 150 mph to a three-way stop to scare him. Seriously, she has a six year old daughter and she thought that was okay?

DNF - I really did try but there was no finishing this

Ok I tried, I made it almost 8 hours in and just gave up. The FMC is probably the most annoying/bitchy character I've EVER read, hands down. MMC was horrible, didn't even try. There was NO chemistry at all between these characters. I did enjoy the narrators, the voices were great but even they couldn't save this book.
