About this listen
Lilac. Where paths cross, sparks fly, and love blooms. Bridal dress designer Chloe Belmont can't believe her good luck. She's been invited to participate in a charity bridal vendor auction for the daughter of a Wall Street billionaire. Maybe now the women of Lilac will finally appreciate her dress designs.
New York executive Luke Stratford can't figure out why his billionaire boss has sent him to keep Chloe Belmont away from his daughter's bridal vendor auction. What should've been a simple business negotiation turns personal when Luke realizes he has feelings for Chloe. As Luke discovers the real reasons for this assignment, will he be able to choose between doing his job and protecting the woman he loves?

The Dolan Girls by S. R. Mallery has it all. Set in Nebraska during the 1800s, whorehouse madams, ladies of the night, a schoolmarm, a Pinkerton detective, a Shakespeare-quoting old coot, brutal outlaws, and a horse-wrangler fill out the cast of characters. Added to the mix are colorful descriptions of an 1856 land rush, Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show, Annie Oakley, bank/train robberies, small town local politics, and, of course, romance. Two, in fact!

Super sweet, enjoyable listen!
Mercy Me by Pamela Ferguson is a short novella clocking in at just under two and a half hours. It's fast paced and really enjoyable. Some novellas don't present a fully developed story or rush through things too quickly and leave holes in the story, which really drives me crazy. Mercy Me doesn't do any of that. It's a fully realized novella and features Chloe and Luke, who are pretty perfect for each other. Chloe helps design wedding dresses for her families small bridal shop in the quaint city of Lilac and Luke is sent by his rich boss to keep Chloe's shop from becoming part of an celebrity auction to find the perfect dress for his model daughter, who is getting married. Luke ends up finding out the real reason why his boss is so determined to keep Chloe's company out of the auction, and well, he and Chloe might have something between them as well. I'd definitely recommend this sweet novella!
Stephanie Dillard did a great job narrating this novella. Her voice was a perfect fit for Chloe and she did a great job with Luke's narration and the handful of other characters in the story as well. I'd absolutely listen more of her performances! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Sweet Christian Romance
This is the third book in the Lilac series and the most overtly Christian, specifically Catholic, book yet. it's not really an issue for me, but it can be for some so I thought I'd mention it. This is a short and sweet story that wraps up quickly. I wish there was more interaction between the h and H. They spend time together and suddenly they are in love. I also wish there was more payback for the townsfolk for insulting the h. In this book and others in the series, the heroines are sometimes doormats to the townsfolk.

Lovely Story!
This is the third book featuring the town and characters of Lilac, Texas. It is a stand alone although you will enjoy it more if you listen to the other books. The small town bridal shop's owner, Chloe Belmont has been invited to participate in a charity bridal vendor auction. Luke Stratford has been personally sent by the company's CEO to remove the shop from the auction and he doesn't understand why. Again as in the other stories, the characters are human, honest, believable, and relate-able. I really hope the author continues the series! I was gifted a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review,

LILAC IS WHERE IT HAPPENS
This is a great story about small-town life mixed with big city drama, and things are all knotted up for Chloe and Luke. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome, and a lot of sacrifices to be made if they can make it. I really enjoyed this one, loved the writing and narration, an excellent audiobook all around, really enjoyed it :)

Cute, sweet romance
This was a quick sweet romance. I enjoyed how the story progressed. There wasn't enough time to have much depth to the characters. Chloe was a young lady with a dream. She has compassion on those she meets and takes all the "word punches" that come her way. Luke is living life in the fast lane. When he met Chloe, he had to slow down and think about life again. I liked getting the backstory on both Luke and Chloe. The narrator did an excellent job on the book. Her voice kept me engaged in the story. I recommend to those that enjoy a sweet romance for an afternoon.

I loved this short novella by Pamela Ferguson. The storyline is original, the characters are developed, and the narration was great. I loved how the story was not predictable and had some added humor along with some twists. Stephanie Dillard did a great job with the various character voices.
