About this listen

Do you want to become mentally sharper and quicker? Do you want to be able to save time and calculate large numbers on the go while you're shopping or adding up a bill at a restaurant? Do you want other people to notice how you seem to not need a calculator, how you seem like such a genius? If yes, then this audiobook is for you.

Mental math is the ability to solve math problems in your head, without the need to write or use a calculator. And it has all of the benefits implied above and much more. Preliminary studies have even shown that mental math can improve your emotional health as well. So, why not engage in mental math problems?

This audiobook is for students and even interested adults. It can be used for serious practice, competition between two or more people, or for a fun night with family and/or friends. The first section consists of two-digit addition questions, and the second chapter consists of three-digit addition questions. The narrator will say a question and give the listener a certain amount of time to come up with an answer before proceeding on to the next question.

You can also access our other mental math audiobooks in this series on subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Sharpens Those Skills

What a great little book! I have been listening to this with my daughter who often struggles to do math in her head, particularly if it's against the clock, we've used this audiobook to practice and I've noticed such a change in her ability to find the answer and she seems much less stressed about the thought of a mental math question.

Nice resource for budding math whizzes

This is a pretty simple audiobook, but I don’t mean that disparagingly. It features two chapters filled with mental math problems: one where listeners are asked to add two two-digit numbers and another where they’re asked to add two three-digit values.

I listened to this one with a family member who is in middle school and is aiming to sharpen his math skills. I thought the first chapter (with the two-digit numbers) was a better pace for him. The second chapter was more difficult, especially given that you’re not supposed to use paper to derive your answers.

But it’s definitely a good resource and way for kids to improve their math skills. I also think there are enough questions here that it wouldn’t get old after just one listen.

Interesting Book

I really loved listening to this book and trying to do the addition questions in head. I wish I had this book when I was elementary school. I was always taught to do all math problems on paper. It was a challenge for me some I got right and some I got wrong. I highly recommend parents buying this book for their kids.

• Mental Math Practice 1: Addition Problems

I needed to help my daughter with Math and I really wasn’t sure of what to do and how I could help. Then I found these books. They have shown me how to calculate quickly and accurately in ways that I hadn’t thought of and that I just needed to retrain my brain and sharpen up those skills and become quicker. I can now help my daughter without embarrassment, many thanks. Definitely will be getting the rest of the series too.

Great Resource!

This is a great way for my kids to learn math, and I love how there is time given for them to work out the problems.
