I love the characters and the story. The narrator was excellent. Such a charming and loving story. I wish the 2nd novel was available in Audible. I cried happy tears at the end of the book, which for me makes it an excellent listen.

I enjoyed the visual images that the author provides that goes with the story lines. Several stories would love a sequel to follow some other characters. Times I was saying no no no! Growth in each character was evident!

Jenny has a great way of telling a story with human characters that you can relate to, with humor and heart tugging moments. Love her! Michelle Ford did a great narration and character voices.

I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did. The story was very engaging and I always looked forward to my time to listen. The story moved along nicely, and the characters were fully developed. I enjoy the dimensions and the engagement between the different social and ethnic groups. I wanted to live by the cupcake Café. The story had a very nice ending that wasn’t rushed. Unfortunately, this author has a habit of throwing in some foul language, but she keeps it minimal. What’s disturbing to me as a Christian is that‘s name in vain, kind of sends a jolt through me every time a character says that. Which I think was two or three times in this book. I think is Christians. We need to stand up for ourselves more to let the authors know that we don’t expect them to be cursing Mohammed or Buddha in a book. Why do they not hesitate to curse our Christian God or Jesus? Anyhow, please know that your Christian friends probably don’t say anything, but we do take notice when you disrespect our God.
