Publisher's summary

A ruthless tycoon

Savage ambition has brought common-born Rhys Winterborne vast wealth and success. In business and beyond, Rhys gets exactly what he wants. And from the moment he meets the shy, aristocratic Lady Helen Ravenel, he is determined to possess her. If he must take her virtue to ensure she marries him, so much the better....

A sheltered beauty

Helen has had little contact with the glittering, cynical world of London society. Yet Rhys' determined seduction awakens an intense mutual passion. Helen's gentle upbringing belies a stubborn conviction that only she can tame her unruly husband. As Rhys' enemies conspire against them, Helen must trust him with her darkest secret. The risks are unthinkable...the reward a lifetime of incomparable bliss.

Wonderful Story

I love the story line of these books. The reader was very hard for me to understand I had to slow the voice down to understand her. I guess I will just have to read the books myself. Very disappointed in the narration.

So glad I got the 2nd - better than the 1st!

Any additional comments?

Wasn't sure how Helen's story would play - but sooo happy I decided to find out!

Family members do try and help, but sometimes they end up doing more harm than good. From the first book we find out that Helen help mend a battered Rhys (Reece) back to health after terrible accident that left him with broken bones, an achy body, and temporarily blind sight. Well, a beautiful relationship is started with designs for an even more beauriful future when her caring sweet voice soothes his pains away.

Week after week they spend all their time time talking, reading, and building upon this tiny bit of time they have all to themselves. What adream come true when his vision returned and Rhys is met the beautiful blonde locks, and sweet face of Helen. With everything he gathered without the use of his eyes, knowing her inner beauty as he did was icing on the cake when all of the pieces of Helen were finally revealed as his sight eventually came back.

Their wonderful future was transforming before their eyes even faster now in wonder and excitement, that is until challenging moment when Helen received her first kiss from a virile and very eager Rhys. Not knowing what to do or even what to expect, her moment for dreamy memories, had sadly been met with fear and frustrating sadness.

Needless to say their beautiful future simply crumbled in only a few hasty seconds...

Here is where the misguided family intentions pretty much tossed Helens world upside down. By trying to help and misunderstanding Helens words, Kathlene spoke to Rhys after Helen shows up with fearful tears in anguish. Not understanding what all truley happened, nor how each person really felt, Kathlene's confrontation did nothing but put up Rhys defense and his angry actions and words simply severed Helens dreams before she even knew what happened.

This second installment takes us on a ride to see how Helen's venture into London to go to Rhys to try and understand why their engagement had suddenly ended. She does her best to mend the broken future with her sheer determination, one that is best to crack that hard shell Rhys has completly around his heart. Slowly understand Rhys can see her innocense is so true, that even the heardest of men will soon realize that he'll do anything to keep it safe and sound... and I mean anything that tries to get in the way!

There are things about Helen that even Helen doesnt know yet, but its when all the cards are laid down that she understands that the only path to take will only leave her far far away and heartbroken. While Rhys , with his mysterious past, as all that makes Rhys, Rhys...the things that things play out will simply make you wonder, just how will his hand play. Will he, won't he, can he, can she?!?

Great ride! Very happy, can't wait for the next!

A Wonderful Story!!

This is my second book by Lisa Kleypas - I listened to Cold Hearted Rake and thought it was very good but Marrying Winterborne surpassed that. I loved the characters of Helen and Rhys - typical will she won’t she in the beginning and the somewhat brutish male character is written so enjoyably that you root for them to be together. Mary Jane Wells, Welsh accent for Rhys is s bit off putting as it was for Devon Ravenel in Cold Hearted Rake but she does all the other characters so well that you just put that to the back off your mind. Looking forward to listening to the third in the Ravenel series.

I could listen to the this all day every day.

Love it!!! The story is funny, engaging, and hot! the Narrator has perfect voices, tone, and cadence. I literally laugh out loud at the quips and character's personalities in these books. I can picture everything so clearly in my head as I listen.
